League matches last season proved the rotation and different systems didnt really work.

Lambert has decided to keep one system and limit the changes for League matches this season, but hasnt for Cup games. He keeps the same system, but changes too many players.

All in favour of bringing the youth through, but not 9 or 10 changes for cup games, we have more than enough squad players. FA Cup game we should have brought in maybe 3/4 of the U23s and with the EFL trophy we should have had 3/4 of the under 18s with the U23s team or a mixture of U23s and 18s with 5/6 first teamers.

As for the system, we need to be able to have a plan B and Plan C which all the players understand and are comfortable with, the current system works to a point and against certain teams, but we still need to improve on it and have back ups when the system isnt working, which has been a few times this season.

The fringe players, that could have featured last night, unfortunatel went 120 minutes on Saturday.

To go from not featuirng, to 120 minutes, then another game 3 days later.

Its just unneccassary.

Last nights game just needs to be looked at as an U23 game, going through in that competiton would only bring benefit to those players as they would play the next round.

We'll see how Lambert manages squad through next few games, they are the key

One thing it does mean is that there are absolutely no excuses left now for Lambert!

We need to find some consistent form and a pattern of play.

Yes, but with the squads we have, there is still no reason why we couldnt have fielded a lot stronger team. We should be looking to win cup games and still not compromise the league. Success breeds success.
