If after 8 games Lambert was to go 11:22 - Nov 13 with 3217 viewshype313

Who realistically is out there that we would turn to? Or do we think he would promote from within.

Lets hope this isn't the discussion as we will be riding high on a crest of a promotion wave....

The only realistic candidate would be Paul Cook, but we would have to break the bank for him as i'm not sure he would look at this level.

Paul Cook is the obvious outstanding candidate not currently in work. I’d also be happy with the Cowleys, they are relatively local in Essex and ME has talked to them before.

I however think it’s more likely to be Dyer he’s in the club already and knows the players.

Hoofer Cowley should be kept even further away from ITFC than 12-passes-At-The-Back-Then-Hoofer Lambert.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

That's reductive, Huddersfield weren't really like that under Cowley. There's plenty of talk about managers needing a "style" or a "philosophy" but many of the best have simply adapted astutely to what they've got, just as Cowley did to fine effect at Lincoln. For a more dramatic example, look at Carlo Ancelotti — he's made a career of it.

Indeed they are pragmatists they will play with what they get. They happily played it on the deck at Concord when there.

I don't see the need to rush Tbh

I'd see where we are Xmas 2021 and go from there.

See exactly where this club plan is going.

Otherwise. We may aswell just sack and hire every two years

I think with Dyer, you'd need an experienced, competent DoF and solid club structure behind him but I'm not opposed by any means.

A distinct possibility as Evans will be looking at a cheap option after spending out on getting rid of Lambert. He would also be able to spin it as following the Southgate route with England...Under 23s to first team.

If at the end of / near the end of the season:
DOF - Burley
Manager - Dyer
Assistant - Chambers

Burley always had an eye for a player and brings the experience the others lack. Dyer and Chambo would bring so much passion and club knowledge and could hopefully bring the best attributes from managers they have played under. Burley himself, SBR, MM, Redknapp, Eriksson to name a few.

These 3 would be something for every town fan to get behind!

I’d have Stewart as assistant, Chambers can start with the U18’s/U23’s he would need to demonstrate he can coach by getting the relevant UEFA badges first.

Or, we could replace him now with somebody who actually knows what he is doing. The thought of another year of this is deeply depressing.

No, we don't need Chambers to be given an assistant managers job just because you like him. He needs to go an do the hard graft like KD has, rather than get stuff given to him on a plate. KD has already said who he wants as an assistant manager.

Burley should be good as DoF, given his understanding of the club and the desired upward management that is needed.

I agree about Chambers.
It’s an indication of how far we’ve fallen that he gets mentioned regarding any future role based solely on his passion and understanding of the club.
Part of the problem for far too long and certainly not part of any solution as things stand.

I think if you were to look at any of the available out of work managers, likely to be within our range to attract, then Cowley is the one who would likely have the quickest impact and achieve the goals set of promotion.

They may not be best long term, or play the best football - but they will get us going in the right direction and think they are pragmatists rather than long ball merchants
