Isn't Flora Buttery going non vegan again soon?

There's talk of it, but the vegans aren't taking it lying down. Feels like a backwards move to be honest.

Edit - just seem callis' post. Balls.

You'd probably find a way to pay £90 for a plate of it

This was kinda what I said earlier without going all WHY ALWAYS ME.

Being told “oh but you’ve chilled out now so you get less flack” rather than “I’m sorry so many of us posted abuse your way because I’ve reassessed my views and you are right” is a complete copout. I’m making the exact same points but the rallying cry of the anti-vegans, who as a group in all of society have died down in numbers, have very much gone.

Whatever helps people sleep at night I guess.

Same for [redacted] earlier this year getting me booted off temporarily over the current sh1tshow COVID response.

My mate has some rescue hens that were off to slaughter after their egg laying dried up.

A) Some have lived for years after being adopted despite living in awful conditions that have shortened their life span.

B) They all have unique personalities, quirks and habits the same as a dog or cat would. Certainly more personality than a hamster or a gerbil, yet if someone in the UK said they eat either they'd end up on the RSPCA's books.

The cognitive dissonance in animal welfare from years of farming industry propaganda is hard to shake for many sadly.

Exactly this.

I’m a meat eater, and I am also a massive hypocrite and am aware of this. I have rescued 7 ex battery hens in total. They are amazing and like you say all have different personalities. The moment that i realised my hypocrisy was when one of my hens died. As a family we were surprisingly upset (I say surprisingly as I didn’t expect to feel the way I did). I buried the chicken.

Then for tea, went in the fridge, pulled out some Tesco chicken breasts and cooked fajitas. The issue is that the meat we buy is so far detached from the creature that has died to provide the food.

I am educating myself on becoming vegetarian, but it is quite a lifestyle change for me and I know I
am putting it off. I don’t think I could be a vegan though, although that would be the logical next step. Very much one step at a time for me, just gotta take the plunge.

We have 4 chickens left and they are very much part of the family, as odd as that sounds. My little girl is thoroughly enamoured with them.

It's true though. Whether you like it or not.

Other vegans on here didn't get the same response you did.

Also, you seem to believe all meat eaters are in denial and will eventually realise you're right once they stop lying to themselves when several of us have repeatedly said we've thought about it long and hard and have come to what we believe is an acceptable compromise. I realise that for you killing any animal for food is wrong. I have said many times I don't agree for various reasons. I make vegan choices when I prefer them but I have no issue eating meat occasionally.
