Another thread which deteriorated into name-calling, sniping, winding-up and stirring up of old arguments. Not a particularly pleasant board to run at present. Perhaps a lighter mood tomorrow?

on every single occasion you have denied the seriousness of the anti-semitism problem in the labour party. every time. despite the ehrc report. repetitive, obsessive, and with a few divided loyalty tropes thrown in for good measure.

anyone who has read your stuff knows this.

If I had a pound for every time blatant antisemitism was excused away by the same three posters as being part of a smear campaign by the Israel lobby/Blairites or that duel loyalty tropes were dismissed as legitimate criticism of the Israeli government then I wouldn’t have needed to waste my time working as a gammon faced timeshare conman in an ill fitting suit.

Jewish bloke posts on provincial football forum about his perception of anti-Semitism within.

He is then told that he is a liar, a coward, and that he hasn't been here long enough to talk about the matter.

I want no part of that, at all. Fck that.

Well, what he said wasn’t remotely true. Maybe start there?

Ergo he's a liar, a coward, and should shut his mouth, right?

We're poles apart on this, as you know. I'm leaving it there.

Maybe use the IHRA definition and examples to show what you mean? That’s what it’s for.

It’s also to indicate possible antisemitism rather than decide it as the context needs to be judged too.

Some people think anti-Zionism automatically equals antisemitism. It doesn’t without addressing the context.

We’re poles apart on what is rational and fair discussion, that’s for sure.

Solomon has made some pretty extreme accusations there. Obviously, I feel accused but it’s even more unfair on Phil.

Jeremy Corbyn. Every time, without fail.

This government is the most inept and corrupt in modern history, if not ever, yet the Labour Party is still presenting itself as something akin to ferrets fighting in a sack.

Anyway, like Funge there is little point in continuing this with you. I have burgers to flip and onion rings to spit in.

Solomon has accused me of it directly in the past. So hardly a leap.

I actually felt more annoyed by the suggestion that TWTD admin was in on the alleged blanket denial.

At a guess DK has pursued the AS isn't real in his left Tommy Robinson style relentlessly. Just a hunch based on the 10s of thousands of times he has been allowed to do it before. For someone that seems is a reasonable football poster it is a shame that he cannot ever let the subject slide on AS. It really is a terrible look regardless of right or wrong and it would probably go away quicker on here if he didn't feel the need to defend every single incident of AS ever.

To be fair, every time antisemitism is mentioned on here or the issues the of late within political parties, a fringe element have been allowed to deny and rubbish it’s even existed, this should have been dealt with a long time ago. From what I can see just about everyone on here is united and robust in their rejection of ALL forms of persecution and discrimination (as is the club we all follow) and I have no doubt that no one here is antiSemitic or islamaphobic in any way (regardless of how they may appear in text) or blatantly and outright racist, it seems it’s time maybe to reflect on what is being allowed that may be morally offensive?

"A fringe element have been allowed to deny and rubbish it’s even existed".

I've never seen anyone argue that on here. Posters have argued that the issue was exaggerated or used for political purposes but they have said the problem existed and have condemned it.

I realise the sensitivity of threads such as these - and I'm also referring to similar discussions re Islamaphobia - but have always felt they are better played out rather than removed as a matter of course.

I would hope the discussion of the issues have led to a greater understanding of the issues both for those involved and those just reading.

Ultimately it is a forum for debate, so it’s probably inevitable that there are going to be a variety of opinions not all of which are going to be palatable and it’s not a perfect science - what I deem beyond the pale may not be seen as that by some posters or vice versa. Equally, anyone posting overtly antisemitic, Islamophobic or otherwise racist posts wouldn’t be welcome.

For the record, I am aware of a number of Jewish posters - or posters with Jewish family connections - who have taken part in these debates and I have liaised with them while they have been ongoing.

You’re not alone in this but when you have to make up my position as “AS isn’t real” then you’re acting in extremely bad faith.

I get that I’m challenging a widely and strongly held perception of events but address what I’m saying just as I try to address what others are saying.

And in this I find the greatest barrier is that a lot of people don’t actually know many of the details. Actively ignoring them doesn’t help either.

OK AS isn't real probably took it marginally too far but whatever it is it is a terrible look and does absolutely nothing to help the situation. You wouldn't still be on the board if the same conversations were about islamophobia or other types of racism.

The way that you have to jump in every single thread on the topic is very very suspect.

This is a blatant lie and you should be banned for even suggesting it.

What a disgusting cowardly display.

According to your own profile you didn't join this forum until May this year.

There are a number of posts on here over the past few years that if they’d have been made on Labour party forums and the posters had been identified as Labour Party members, they’d have made up a fair chunk of the evidence presented to the EHRC and those members would have been suspended.

One long-standing poster wrote that he was certain that the antisemitism allegations against Labour were orchestrated by the Israeli government. He was simply asked to edit his post. He continues to bait Jews on here.

Another agreed with Pete Willsman that the Rabbis who wrote an open letter on Labour antisemtism were doing so on the instructions of the Israeli embassy. That post is still up. Willsman was suspended by Labour for the comments.

And if you can be bothered to Wade through this titanic thread

https://www.twtd.co.uk/forum/426157/3902650/oh-jeremy...../

You’ll see a number of examples of what Solomon has highlighted.

Sorry, I completely disagree with you here.

A quick look back through his posts will show that Solomon is Jewish (not massively surprising).

I would therefore suggest that this issue is particularly pertinent to him (to say the least).

His forum arrival is of precisely no consequence, being that he, along with any other member, can review any other members previous post history.
[Post edited 19 Nov 2020 7:26]

Even if I disagree with Solomon's comment, I agree with you that he has a right to comment without being chastised just because he is a relatively recently registered poster.

Of course, there isn't one uniform view from posters from any particular ethnicity. Another Jewish poster a while ago complained that the issue was being politicised on here by those seeking to put the boot in on Labour.
