Bullying is absolutely fine according to Ipswich's member of parliament.

They're all it this morning, it's cringeworthy stuff and fantastically transparent.

I see fox hunt fan Tom is also sticking up for the MP for Womansfield, Ben Bradbury too.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

PM's adviser on the ministerial code has resigned.

Guessing they're just going to give the thumbs up to bullying and blame civil servants.

Interesting to see who replaces the independent advisor too.

More Trumpian by the day.

Are there any decent tories left? If so, where exactly do you draw the line?

What's even the point of having independent advisors if you just ignore them when they say something you don't like?

More like Trump style politics by the day. Ignore everything that doesn't fit the narrative, protect allies that behave despicably at all costs.

And to add to that.

Ms Patel released a statement saying she was sorry "I am sorry that my behaviour in the past has upset people. It has never been my intention to cause upset to anyone.

I am very grateful for the hard work of thousands of civil servants who help to deliver the Government’s agenda.

I care deeply about delivering on the commitments we have made to the people of this country and I acknowledge that I am direct and have at times got frustrated.

I would like to thank the Prime Minister for his support."

So not really sorry about the behaviour itself, sorry that they got upset by it. Unbelievable.

It's utterly pathetic. Problem is that Johnson himself is so shady that he doesn't really have the moral authority, or the backbone if we're completely honest, to take firm action against wrongdoing. When you have an 80 seat majority it's much easier to just stick your head in the sand and front it out, but it's really important that people continue to point out that none of this is normal. Taking no action against a cabinet minister found to have breached the ministerial code and having engaged in bullying is unprecedented. In also utterly scandalous. That it's forced an independent advisor into resigning because the decision is so outrageous it makes their position untenable tells you all you need to know.

I really think we need to split Great Britain in two at this point. All the Brexit supporting Tory lot can live in a new country that will be known as Little England. The rest of us will keep the Great Britain moniker.
