I mean, my reading of it is that you received a civil reply, an explanation that the poster couldn’t go vegan, backed up with details of their condition and consultations with medical professionals (which to be honest is quite sad that they thought they had to go that far with their explanation) but you insisted that you knew better. Can quite imagine why that would get said posters back up.
Just my take.

If you ignore every other post on this Callis, listen to this one ^
Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

Ah.
In fairness to Callis, that is very unusual. I've never heard of someone having to eat animal products or they'll die/get very ill.
I don't deny it though.
Not really sure why it's part of this debate to be honest, it must be so rare that the people with such a thing wouldn't make much difference to meat consumption/the environment.
it's part of the debate because after throwing lots at the wall and nothing sticking this one works.
I still haven't seen anyone give me evidence as to why I'm wrong. Just people backing up this idea I've somehow attacked her. I will admit I was blunt, but then again I'm not the one presenting the point, I just raised my doubts.
I get accused of being too emotional on here in debate, yet here I am now getting hammered for opposite reasons.

Someone saying why they can't go vegan on personal experience isn't evidence though.
I don't have time to read through any of this but I'd say the biggest blocker to going vegan is laziness. I just don't have the knowledge to replace all meat with veg.
You'd have more chance of converting people if you be put some recipes and advice on here and tempt people into experimenting.
^^having said that I'm still going to eat fish whatever

I've offered vegan mentorship to posters before. So far, no one's bothered. Although options are easier to find and there is wider discussion of alternatives anyway.
If you wanna give it a go, DM me a list of your favourite/typical meals and I'd happily send you in the right direction. Same goes for anyone, always has.
The problem with approaching change is the classic "I support your choices but you shouldn't protest that way or I won't listen" argument - if that REALLY was the case no one would have to make said protests in the first place. Almost any progressive struggle has followed the same path. Civil rights movements for example this year were off the back of denial of evidence, voices and various smaller peaceful protests being degraded/ignored.
If someone didn't listen when sports stars took the knee, they're in no place to complain when things escalate. See also; climate change and XR.

You seriously expect me to treat you with any respect after you called me a liar, then followed up by repeatedly baiting me over a major illness which has blighted most of my adult life??
And fwiw those utterly disgraceful, personal attacks from you to my saying I eat organic or wild meat/eggs 2-3 times a week are *exactly* the kind of reactions which alienate so many of the meat-eating public from vegans like you "spreading the word". Completely counterproductive to the cause you are espousing.
Now completely stressed out - not good for the illness which I was in a minor flare-up of anyway. I'm out.
Having him on ignore has made TWTD a far better experience Rory.

I'm just bored of this. Wasn't looking for a row, I just made a statement based on the idea that I'm sure there are ways you could go vegan. You are able to reply civilly and point out where I'm wrong. Or you can continually call me a c*nt. The latter so far hasn't done much to expand the debate.
I'm only smearing you as you threw accusations my way about lying or trying to negatively effect your mental/physical state.
I have never, not once, called you (or anyone else) a c*** - it's a word I hate. But that just highlights how you've lied about me (and how little you actually know about me).
As for your final para, thanks for your admission that you were smearing me. You did in effect call me a liar when your response to my pointing out that *medically* I *do* need meat & eggs was
"Sorry but I don't believe for one second you can only get what you need in your diet from animal products nor that there aren't enough alternatives for you to eat".
I did not at any point allege that you were "trying to negatively effect (my) mental/physical state", I pointed out that following the entrenched, unqualified "advice" of you or "100 vegans" as you suggested would impact negatively on my physical health, and that your determination to embroil me in your argument in which you'd several times stepped well over the line, was stressing me out, which obviously isn't good re the illness. And still is btw, so please remain bored with it, no need to reply.

I don't know what you called me to be fair, you used asterisks and censored it. The word isn't important and simply serves to point out name calling and abuse. Which you have done.
Calling someone a liar "in effect" is different call calling them an outright liar, which you did earlier. As it means I didn't call you a liar, but you believe I have implied you are lying. You are welcome to ask what I meant and clarify things if you feel that way. That was an assumption on your half because that wasn't my intention nor did it even cross my mind a the time.
In regards to smearing you, I'm just calling your behaviour as I see it happening in front of me. You didn't reply to what I said, or even acknowledge it. You just carried on on the attack, although I'm still not sure what you're attacking me for. It was lying. Now it's lying in effect. How you react to my posts isn't on me, you control that.
All I said was I find it hard to believe you'll get incredibly ill and die without animal products. There are plenty of ways to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources. I am aware there are debates around the efficiency of digestion of nutrients with certain conditions and foods. If that's the case I welcome your answer in proving me incorrect, but you didn't. You took it personal and went in with both feet.
I didn't offer you advice, I made two statements. One was I find it hard to believe. The other was I'm sure there are many people with experience of your condition who could advise on veganism in that case. This is reinventing the narrative and I'd say outright evidence of gaslighting. That may not be your intent, but this isn't the first time you've reacted in such a way here.
If you want to walk away from this debate that's on you, not me. You can't just come in here, accuse me of a load of things I've not done at best or there as been a misunderstanding at worst, and then use a guilt trip to paint you as a victim and me as an heartless aggressor if I choose to reply and defend myself. It's not particularly nice for me to have you imply things I've not said either and doesn't do wonders for my mental state. Again, this is another example of gaslighting.
i am not trying to have an argument, nor have I been anything but civil or move the goal posts.

Go on then, Footers will be pleased to know I took his advise a while back, enlighten me?
It wasn't aimed at you in particular, but people who post something somebody said 5 years ago, is really, really sad at best. The guy was upset, yet some still wouldn't let it go.

The last time I was in a gang was when I was 14 & staying with my boy cousins in London. Leader of the gang was Timmy, who wanted to be a film director when he grew up, & who I fell in love with when playing 'Postman's Knock'. He also taught us how to key cars ...
