Thanks to all of you that have been kind, fun and engaging. I really do wish you all the very best for you and your families and those close to you in these uncertain times.

What can I say, it's a gift.

As usual, I'm not expecting any sort of cash prize or bounty for this, but some recognition would be nice.

Perhaps now those who doubted us all those months ago will now concede that 'Pecker' was indeed a fake who had most well and truly duped.

But I doubt it.

I don't know what you called me to be fair, you used asterisks and censored it. The word isn't important and simply serves to point out name calling and abuse. Which you have done.

Calling someone a liar "in effect" is different call calling them an outright liar, which you did earlier. As it means I didn't call you a liar, but you believe I have implied you are lying. You are welcome to ask what I meant and clarify things if you feel that way. That was an assumption on your half because that wasn't my intention nor did it even cross my mind a the time.

In regards to smearing you, I'm just calling your behaviour as I see it happening in front of me. You didn't reply to what I said, or even acknowledge it. You just carried on on the attack, although I'm still not sure what you're attacking me for. It was lying. Now it's lying in effect. How you react to my posts isn't on me, you control that.

All I said was I find it hard to believe you'll get incredibly ill and die without animal products. There are plenty of ways to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources. I am aware there are debates around the efficiency of digestion of nutrients with certain conditions and foods. If that's the case I welcome your answer in proving me incorrect, but you didn't. You took it personal and went in with both feet.

I didn't offer you advice, I made two statements. One was I find it hard to believe. The other was I'm sure there are many people with experience of your condition who could advise on veganism in that case. This is reinventing the narrative and I'd say outright evidence of gaslighting. That may not be your intent, but this isn't the first time you've reacted in such a way here.

If you want to walk away from this debate that's on you, not me. You can't just come in here, accuse me of a load of things I've not done at best or there as been a misunderstanding at worst, and then use a guilt trip to paint you as a victim and me as an heartless aggressor if I choose to reply and defend myself. It's not particularly nice for me to have you imply things I've not said either and doesn't do wonders for my mental state. Again, this is another example of gaslighting.

i am not trying to have an argument, nor have I been anything but civil or move the goal posts.
[Post edited 20 Nov 2020 19:13]

What a load of distortions, excuses & further defamation. I'm not going to waste more time on you except to highlight two more points which show exactly how you've twisted things to suit yourself (perhaps it's even got to a stage where you're so blinded in your single-mindedness over it all that you even believe it yourself).

"i am not trying to have an argument, nor have I been anything but civil or move the goal posts."

Well, apart from your 8 posts arguing with me ("I still do rubbish that") that I know more than you about how to manage my auto-immune illness that arose partly as a result of CO poisoning from a faulty heating system 30 years ago; and your attempted defamation of my character in around 5 more posts in response to several other posters - yeah, sure ...

"All I said was I find it hard to believe you'll get incredibly ill and die without animal products. There are plenty of ways to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources."

No, there are not other ways ways for *me* "to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources." It's unbelievable I'm even having to repeat this. Just as 1% example of the things I'm allergic to - coconut, brazil & walnuts, all fruit, tomatoes, pepper family, cabbage family, beet family, carrots. I cannot eat any hot or warm fat except olive oil. Etc etc etc etc.

And what I *actually* said was that not eating the full range of food that I *can* tolerate means that I'd obviously get less of the nutrients I need to keep as healthy as I possibly can (atm that would of course mean a lowered ability to resist covid) - which reduction would inevitably shorten my lifespan, yes, it's as basic as that. I do gingerly experiment with the occasional new thing when times are good, but that runs the risk of triggering a flare-up - which would mean having to go onto max dosage of the meds - which are immuno-suppressant. I hope you will now get the picture and zip it.

Apologies to everyone else for this tedious medical detail which I'll probably delete when the thread dies, seems monytowbray not going to be satisfied or get off my back otherwise.

Could it not be that you, in fact, have ‘chilled out’ though? Because you have. You’re less shouty in your argument which engages more people to listen.

At one point mid vegan thread once on here you literally had your missus posting for you telling everyone why you were right and the rest of us were wrong by eating meat. I’m sure I’m not the only one who remembers that. So by you not doing that anymore.. it’s a good example of you ‘chilling out’ a bit.

I've chilled out a lot on here politics-wise, I used to go in two-footed on all the political posts when I was keeping the Red Flag flying with Hackney Tractor. The fact that I've had the same avatar for years is somebody called me the Wolfie Smith of Melford, I was very loud and very left-wing .

I stopped all that because I had people from here who disagreed with me sending a lot of threatening PMs which ended with them e-mailing my work with screenshots from here about a Lord Lucan Handbag-style night, doing a load of coke at a pre-season friendly and the messy night out that followed.

I very rarely venture into politics on here anymore, for every Glasgow who you can have a heated argument with respect on both side (even though we both think each other is wrong) then have a really chilled out music thread with later agreeing about great The Beatles were you have some ar$ehole who sticks his oar in, you destroy him with words and takes it personally.

Rubbishing something isn't looking for an argument, and the word "rubbish" was used in regard to another post. Not really my choice of wording but was just a follow up. Understand how that may have seemed harsh in wording though so fair.

Many of the big parts of a vegan diet you haven't listed as an allergy though.

Soy.
Wheat.
Rice.
Oats.
Other vegetables.

I don't eat much coconut, brazil nuts or walnuts. I can't stand tomatoes. I can understand struggling with carrots and cabbage families but add your fruit allergy to the mix and honestly I'm not surprised you feel rough if you are so limited in fruit/veg. I would instantly ask what you do there as any diet lacking in natural foods isn't going to be pretty, meat or no meat.

I'm also curious as to how oil affects you as most foods contain some level of oil, unless you mean cooking in the stuff.

I'm completely entitled to raise this and it not be an attack on you or your illness. And you're completely capable of replying without making it personal. Why we couldn't start at that point in the first place is beyond me.

Probably doesn’t matter though does it man?

It’s clearly a sensitive subject for her. Spend your time going after people who don’t have to eat meat if you need to; not someone who says they medical can’t.

It doesn’t matter. It’s Friday. There’s a pandemic.

It's about the tone. Again. I'm sorry, I know you'll disagree, but think of the difference between your first reply and something along the lines of:

I'm sorry to hear that, it must be awful. If you ever want to PM me to see if we can replace any of the meat with plant products feel free and i'll see if I can help.

That would be polite and potentially mutually beneficial for animals and Ryorry. Knowing Ryorry, she might well have taken you up on it as well.
