(No subject) (n/t) (n/t) on 21:28 - Nov 20 by monytowbray | Rubbishing something isn't looking for an argument, and the word "rubbish" was used in regard to another post. Not really my choice of wording but was just a follow up. Understand how that may have seemed harsh in wording though so fair. Many of the big parts of a vegan diet you haven't listed as an allergy though. Soy. Wheat. Rice. Oats. Other vegetables. I don't eat much coconut, brazil nuts or walnuts. I can't stand tomatoes. I can understand struggling with carrots and cabbage families but add your fruit allergy to the mix and honestly I'm not surprised you feel rough if you are so limited in fruit/veg. I would instantly ask what you do there as any diet lacking in natural foods isn't going to be pretty, meat or no meat. I'm also curious as to how oil affects you as most foods contain some level of oil, unless you mean cooking in the stuff. I'm completely entitled to raise this and it not be an attack on you or your illness. And you're completely capable of replying without making it personal. Why we couldn't start at that point in the first place is beyond me. [Post edited 20 Nov 2020 21:29]

*You* need to look at how *you* word things, your statement that you didn't believe me was in the first post you addressed to me, & you persisted by being confrontational, outrageously arrogant, and agressive. I have discussed every food - vegan, non-vegan - from just about every country in the world with dieticians, doctors, allergy specialists, herbalists and other people with IBD. I have taken in suggestions from Eireblue, Leitrim and other non-aggressive vegans about alternatives - particularly for non-dairy cheese, which was useful/welcome. I do not need input from you. Goodnight. Edit - I did say in my last post that it's *when hot or warm* that I can only tolerate olive oil. Can get away with a miniscule amount of hot/warm rapeseed or sunflower when in remission. Now do us both a favour and give it a b***dy rest please. [Post edited 20 Nov 2020 21:55]

Jesus. I've tried to be far less open on here recently. I was a bit mouthy about my last job and was surprised no one worked out precisely where I worked. I've learnt from that. It's sad when you have to be wary of your own though.

(No subject) (n/t) (n/t) on 21:18 - Nov 20 by Ryorry | What a load of distortions, excuses & further defamation. I'm not going to waste more time on you except to highlight two more points which show exactly how you've twisted things to suit yourself (perhaps it's even got to a stage where you're so blinded in your single-mindedness over it all that you even believe it yourself). "i am not trying to have an argument, nor have I been anything but civil or move the goal posts." Well, apart from your 8 posts arguing with me ("I still do rubbish that") that I know more than you about how to manage my auto-immune illness that arose partly as a result of CO poisoning from a faulty heating system 30 years ago; and your attempted defamation of my character in around 5 more posts in response to several other posters - yeah, sure ... "All I said was I find it hard to believe you'll get incredibly ill and die without animal products. There are plenty of ways to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources." No, there are not other ways ways for *me* "to get all the nutrients needed from other food sources." It's unbelievable I'm even having to repeat this. Just as 1% example of the things I'm allergic to - coconut, brazil & walnuts, all fruit, tomatoes, pepper family, cabbage family, beet family, carrots. I cannot eat any hot or warm fat except olive oil. Etc etc etc etc. And what I *actually* said was that not eating the full range of food that I *can* tolerate means that I'd obviously get less of the nutrients I need to keep as healthy as I possibly can (atm that would of course mean a lowered ability to resist covid) - which reduction would inevitably shorten my lifespan, yes, it's as basic as that. I do gingerly experiment with the occasional new thing when times are good, but that runs the risk of triggering a flare-up - which would mean having to go onto max dosage of the meds - which are immuno-suppressant. I hope you will now get the picture and zip it. Apologies to everyone else for this tedious medical detail which I'll probably delete when the thread dies, seems monytowbray not going to be satisfied or get off my back otherwise. |

I'm sorry, I know you'll disagree, but think of the difference between your first reply and something along the lines of: I'm sorry to hear that, it must be awful. If you ever want to PM me to see if we can replace any of the meat with plant products feel free and i'll see if I can help. That would be polite and potentially mutually beneficial for animals and Ryorry. Knowing Ryorry, she might well have taken you up on it as well. |

Thing is, even if the bosses would have read them they wouldn't have given a sj!t anyway but it did scare me for a bit . I have had of PMs since along the lines of "I know where you work" and I just say so what Sherlock my name's Melford and I've said I'm a chef on here if you're that obsessed it's not hard to track me down, what are you going to do? Basically, every follow up post you’ve ignored what I’ve said. I’ve not been aggressive bar one post when you went in heavy with abuse and a guilt trip. I’ve tried answering you point by point and listened to what you’ve said. On top of this I’ve continually had to address accusations of my intewnt Not sure what more you can ask of me to do in a discussion. It seems there is no way for me to discuss veganism with you without it turning out this way. And oddly you are in the minority of that list these days as most people are capable of engaging. Best of luck with things. I have better channels to put my energy into than promoting veganism to a random pensioner on a football forum who lives a few hundred miles away.

Spend your time going after people who don’t have to eat meat if you need to; not someone who says they medical can’t. It doesn’t matter. It’s Friday. There’s a pandemic. |
I’m not “going after” anyone. And there’s that toxic assumption again. Stick my name next to it and all hell breaks loose. I’m entitled to raise discussion points in reply to what she posts. If it’s a sensitive subject it’s on her shoulders to raise and discuss it when she chooses and when she doesn’t. No one elses. But at the same time you can’t post a load of accusations but play the “but I’m too ill to argue so if you reply you’re a bad person.” That is a form of gaslighting. [Post edited 20 Nov 2020 22:21]

I did not "choose" to discuss it, I chose *not* to discuss it & asked you several times to stop. *You* were the one who picked the bl**dy argument and were determined ro keeping it going with your post after post insisting that you know better than me & the medical professionals about how to manage my illness. Nor did I say that I was “ too ill to argue so if you reply you’re a bad person." Your following me round with distortions of the truth like that in about 15 posts over the last 8 hours is what is actually "gaslighting" and abusive.

You raised it, not me. You dragged yourself into the thread and called me out. You even framed the original point as “rubbishing” then tried to use that against me when I replied. I set out a perfectly reasonable and fair list of reasons for why I disagreed with your health statement. You replied to me with multiple claims that I felt unjust and defended myself. You name called multiple times. This isn’t a one sided affair and I have no responsibility in how you choose to process what I say and how you respond. It’s so straight forward if you take what I say at face value. It is your job to dictate when you engage here and when you don’t based on how you feel and no one else’s. I’ve done so many times. Never would I judge someone’s character negatively and then frame the post to say “But I’m depressed/anxious/suicidal right now so I don’t want you to reply” so if looks to the wider board one side is the agitator. And that is what you did, you tried to guilt trip myself and it seems it worked on a few others. I’ve experienced gaslighting first hand and it’s pure manipulation to do these things to enforce someone else to not talk by weaponising illness. [Post edited 20 Nov 2020 23:36]

There’s people on this thread who you get along with well like Chris Swailles and Herbivore and even they are advising you to let it lie here? Does that not tell you that perhaps you’re now starting to look bad from the last couple of pages regarding your questioning of Ryorry and perhaps might want to drop it? Just a thought
