I don’t know about antisemitism, I’m sure there’s none of that on this board, but I retain the view that those who don’t tow the line with some of the more vocal on here get some pretty strong treatment. |

No. If I remember correctly that thread was deleted very quickly after I replied to the poster in question and within about two minutes of the original comment. It's possible whoever deleted it clicked on the thread before that comment was made and was reading through the rest of it. I would imagine if it got to comments like that it was already pretty hostile but I don't remember to be honest. |

I quit the board. These things take their toll. It was just another crass comment aimed at me with full knowledge of my family background.
I've lost count of the number of times somebody will say "well you never mentioned that your wife was from a Jewish family until Corbyn came along". As if is something I should have declared from the day I posted on here. Although you may recall you and I had this discussion what seems like a decade ago with regards to some posts about Gilad Atzmon.
Maybe some of this stuff is so low level that it goes under most people's radar, but the constant digs that pretty much infer that I use my wife's ethnicity as a flag of convenience and have only started doing so since the arrival of Corbyn can be very draining and to be frank, very upsetting.
The other constant snipe is that I never spoke out against antisemitism before Corbyn. Again, that's been busted by several posters but those saying it ignore the facts and constantly use that as a line to discredit me.
Then I get the "why are you so vocal about AS but not other forms of racism"? Which is basically like asking a person from an afro Caribbean background why they bang on about Windrush but not Islamophobia.
I see why Solomon made his comments earlier. I don't think anyone in admin allows antisemitism go unchallenged intentionally, but some of it is so subtle you may not be picking up on it.

There's always been "ribbing" of people on here, it's part of the charm, but only rarely did it ever get too personally offensive.
Lately it's turning into a platform for personal crusades and the constant aggressive dismissal of anyone with a different view.
Nobody should feel that they can't post on here through fear of getting abused, whether you are black, white, green, a meat eater, a veggie, a hipster, gay, straight, Jewish, Muslim, martian, Lambert inner or of any other persuasion.
Take some time out, but come back.
Keno's still here and while he's here there is always a little bit of joy around the place.
