I think he'd be able to bulldoze a path through just by sheer force of effort rather than ability and properly occupy the 2 centre halves.

As much as I'd love Pablo or McGoldrick, you'd have to go for Murphy in this system. I think Alan Lee is a bit underrated in a similar role though, absolute pain in the backside for defenders.
