For the avoidance of doubt, I would never announce I was leaving, all seems a bit attention seeking. I appreciate that 99% of all of the internet is attention seeking, but that would be a step too far.

The best flounces have always come back with their new username almost immediately. Which is special in itself. It'd be rude to name names, or at least cruel. But I'm sure you can deduce the less than a handful who have done that.
There was a NYE meltdown one year which will struggle to be topped I think.

I think that I would generate more if I made my announcement on 28th April.
I intend to resign from TWTD on 28th April 2062 after I have posted my 'Champions Of England' post for that year with it being the 100th anniversary-assuming we do not win the title in the next 40 odd years.

The content of a thread isn't that important. It is more to do with a certain poster joining in on it. Someone could ask the weather and that poster could make it a 15 pager where they flounce at comments from others and tell them they should post it but then keep posting their own drivel while maintaining a right to reply
