I don't know how anyone can watch that and think we'll be in with a chance of going up with Lambert in charge. I think that's why many of us felt flat.

**** Paul Lambert and **** everyone by GlasgowBlue 21 Nov 2020 17:30
We've been very indifferent since the Rotherham game. That's 6 league games. Yet we are still just two points off top.

I am far from happy with the performances. Confused by Lambert's team selections and tactics.

But there aren't any teams out there who are far better than us as to open up a lead in the table. We could well limp into a play off place playing as we are. A slight improvement will see us up in automatic promotion.

And that's without our injured players coming back.

Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over

Bet you're a scum fan who would celebrate us losing.

I watched the game on Ifollow and I'm chuffed to bits with how we're playing - Lambert just gets it and if we carry on with the 5-year plan we will see the football that Evans has promised us.

The negativity is incredible. Just get behind the manager everyone. he's here to stay.

But we're getting worse as the season progresses once again. We had an easy start to the season where we made hay having the odd 20 minutes of playing well. Since then it's been utterly turgid. Lambert is hopeless and I think even limping into the play offs is wildly optimistic with him at the helm.

That was a much more entertaining one though haha. What a game that was, summed up that Joe Royle side perfectly.

More entertaining but a real feeling of conceding goals like that against a team like that we were never going to get promoted.

Wtf???

Let me explain. Being still young and optimistic (unlike you) , fascinatingly enough I'm happy when we win, especially with late goals. Look, I'm not going to say we played well but in the first half there were 4-5 nice little one touch moves in the middle even if they didn't necessarily lead to chances. As for the second half, you're well aware I'm a bit of a football purist, so to see us go more direct is naturally a bit disappointing, but as we scored twice I'm hardly going to complain. Didn't realise I'd have to spell out my post quite so explicitly.

Can't get my head around that Dan. Those three points could be the difference between going up and staying in the league. We were utter tripe today but I shouted as loudly when we got that winner as I have for any goal our team has ever scored.

The old Sphincter went when they had one cleared off the line 30 seconds later.

The moment Norwood was unable to get the ball away from the defender, having done his Long John Silver routine to waste time before the restart had me thinking, “That’s going to cost us.”

I was bellowing obscenities for the next minute thereafter.

Yeah. He gave the ref a reason to add on another minute. If he hadn't have done that the ref may well have blown straight from the re start.

Although Covid has a big part to play, I don't feel the connection with ITFC (and football in general) that I used to, even England games. Time to get into some really exciting sports again like Baseball (said with irony)

That eloquent point doesn't really disprove anything I've said, as I admitted we didn't play well, 'toss' is perhaps an apt description of my opinion of direct football, which I've also mentioned as being disappointing about the second half. Surely for you, with a footballing philosophy of pragmatism and results, any win is a good win? I will continue to enjoy said win despite the below par performance.

Don't presume you know anything about my "footballing philosophy". Today was abject. No real shape, no way of playing, no organisation. We got a result from a freak own goal and a goalkeeping error. Against one of the worst sides in the third division. If you enjoyed it then good for you.

Let me explain his "wtf?"

You said it was the third time you've seen us this season and the first time since the Wigan game.

The Wigan game was the first League game of the season, which means you only saw the Mickey Mouse Cup games against Bristol Rovers and Arsenal U23s!

Sorry to burst your bubble, it's been a bit* downhill since then.

I said it's the first win I've seen since Wigan, last game I saw was Pompey the other day. I'm assuming his comment was in relation to me saying there were a couple of nice moves in the first half and the fact I enjoyed us winning. Herbivore quite often sees games differently to me (game of opinions and all that), so I think the comment was more in relation to that.

That’s all very well but it’s completely unsustainable. Even if we did limp into the Championship, Lambert has shown he’s unable to even set up a dominant League One Town side. He’s no chance of doing it a league above. We’d be torn to shreds under him - again.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

there's no spark from the players , it looks like they are going through the motions but don't really have any ambitiion , this once proud club is on the slide .

PL is in total denial that anything is wrong , we should be celebrating a win and 3rd place , but somehow it just feels false .

PL is very touchy and the players seem to know things are not right , no passion . Even with wins like today and Crewe it just doesn't feel right , get the feeling all is not well

I meant I definitely enjoyed the victory not the game itself, I did consider phrasing it differently. And in my opinion we did have one or two nice little one touch moves in the first half.
But by all means keep swearing over the internet at someone you've never met because they have a different opinion about football.
