I would have much more respect for Lambert if had said the truth - that this was an abysmal performance and that we were lucky to win. It's his continual praise for the team - the weird loyalty to the likes of Judge - that makes it all so hard to accept.

A post - I feel you have caught my mood where I kind of agree with you!
Some how since 2004 our club been on slow decline.
Those were the days when I wore my shirt with pride- we were a fluent and attacking side a joy to watch.
Today sitting watching the tv on my own ( son and wife have given up watching the streams) 3 season ticket holders, Sadly I felt numb , thinking even through my blue tinted glasses what am I watching?
I felt we are pedestrian pace going from left to right and back again and then switching play into touch or giving the ball away and no threat.
Yes we won but if we hadn’t won it would have been 2 from 8 as Brennah kept mentioning to keep us all happy! But is the brand likely to claw existing and new supporters back after Covid19?
And then it’s even more Disheartening when PL keeps saying we are playing really really well.
We are 3rd - will we stay there and keep us interested only time will tell . But our football isn’t entertaining and that’s what we need.

It's everything. Evans, the lack of funds, the managers, the injuries, the players, the transfer windows, the set up, the complete lack of will to compete, the apathy, the bullsh1t year after year, the few words we get each summer from Evans and a few senior players to appease us, the fact that a multi-millionaire's investment gamble is the reason it's like this and he refuses to talk away and so much more.
It's the slow systematic decline gradually lowering the bar season after season. |
Worst thing of all is the acceptance of mediocrity. Mostly from people who were complaining a few seasons that upper mid-table in the Championship wasn't enough. |  |
