Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? 21:43 - Nov 24 with 5803 views | radiogaga | Surely a matter of when at this point, given the context/ importance of this season and the manner of last season's fall away. Cook for me, although I have serious doubts whether he'd really want to come here.

I'm backing up from the case you and J2 have presented, and would be happy to be proven wrong. I still think it's pointless having such a discussion until Evans goes though. He's killing us.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:02 - Nov 24 by tractordownsouth | I'd push the boat out to get Paul Cook in. Reality is we're fooked if we don't go up this year so we need to take that risk. Failing that, I'd take Nigel Adkins. Richie Wellens would've been another pick before he went to Salford. |
Paul Jewell, Paul Hurst, Paul Lambert... I think we need to move onto a new letter of the alphabet

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:05 - Nov 24 with 1889 views | TieDyedIn95 | Well given we'll have to pay off that contract, Evans has felt the squeeze and won't be wanting to spend anymore on the club he'll go for a cheap feelgood option like Dyer. That will convince people to renew and get excited until the ball is kicked and nothing has changed. We could change manager 10 times between now and next year, it's irrelevant, same budget, squad, injured players, bad set up, average facilities and so on. Until Evans goes nothing will change. It's him not PR Paul whos at fault for all of this crap.

I don't know why, but something just doesn't sit right with Paul Cook for me and being a good fit here - guess neither of us will get to find out who is right so it doesn't matter!

They are and from what I saw of them at Lincoln, they understand how a club can and should be at the heart of the town in which it’s based - but without being rabble rousers. I’ve warmed to them after being worried about them needing a Matt Rhead in every team which isn’t the case. I think they’d be a good option.

I like Paul Cook I have to say, I think someone mentioned he was at Chesterfield and had relative success, although didn’t really follow career until he brought his Portsmouth side here in the FA Cup, filled with really good quality, Webster, Enda Stevens, Marc McNulty, Kyle Bennett shone. But think I read you mention Cowleys a few weeks back and did some reading on them, very impressed with the brothers, us right now, seems to have the feel from interviews of how it was when they went to Lincoln, they said ‘Lincoln was a club still mourning the fact they had been relegated from previous years’. I like that shout as well Joe.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:12 - Nov 24 with 1805 views | Churchman | Somebody who cares about the club, somebody who understands it and what a club like it needs. As Mowbray is well out of our league and wouldn’t work for a c£&k like Evans, I’d go for Dyer and give him the remit to run the club with whatever help he needed, whether that a DoF or a magic wand. But the club is rotten to the core and possibly too far gone now, but I think somebody like him is the best hope.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:17 - Nov 24 with 1781 views | Chrisd | Unlikely I know, but Eddie Howe. He was talking on Sky Sports the other evening and although he’s in no hurry to return to football management, he did say unless it was the right project. If ME was clever he could sell him the ITFC dream, he’d certainly get us playing good attacking football and get us fans off our seats. Otherwise, someone like Nigel Pearson, he’d kick a few ar*es, which some of our players need judging from their reaction at the final whistle tonight. He’d certainly get us organised first and foremost and tougher to beat.

The chances of getting Howe or Pearson are about the same as getting Klopp. Zero. I like your thinking though
Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:24 - Nov 24 with 1744 views | IpswichKnight | Cowleys for me out of those who are currently jobless, pragmatists who will play to a style that suits our players and can coach a team. They are also local and Marcus has talked to them before ( when Mick was in final year he did talk to them in December that year before Mick walked out and we then appointed Hurst ). I wouldn’t be against Dyer either.
Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 22:27 - Nov 24 with 1737 views | Ryorry | Given all Evans' previous decisions, we might as well have Lady Gaga! I don't know enough about who's out there to nominate any, but whoever it turns out to be, I am 100% certain that they should have to agree to take on KD as assistant (or additional assistant if determined to bring in their own no. 2) with an eye on the future, as part of the deal.

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 23:08 - Nov 24 with 1640 views | Steve_D | Until M E goes it doesn't matter who the manager is , no investment in playing staff , coaches with no coaching experience because it's cheaper to get old players who have just left a club Even Klop couldn't get us promotion with this owner .

Who would people want to see appointed when Lambert goes? on 23:48 - Nov 24 with 1581 views | You_Bloo_Right | Someone who understands this “What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes.” “It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up the stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him, and without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.”
