Would be nice if those who voted for them owned their sh1t and started calling it out. See also, Brexit.

I was going to flippantly say it'll never happen, but I did see a bit of a hooha yesterday where a prominent Tory supporter was most put out that they reneged on their manifesto pledge on foreign aid. It shouldn't come as any surprise that a bunch of proven liars should be found to be lying, but there we are. Some may start to question what's going on as their cronyism becomes more and more blatant and widespread. I suspect a lot of their supporters, especially the cultist types on social media won't care at all though.

Why would the government giving contracts worth billions to their unqualified mates without tender over and over be a non-story?

As long as Bannon/Mercer are willing to amplify their lies and they keep the MSM in their pockets via exclusive access they don't care. There are only two types of journalists to them - Those who tow the party line and those who are fake news. It's all borrowed from the Nazi's playbook.

Nah, to Universal Credit with the lot of 'em, which they're then going to cut massively until we're all in work houses.

The government was asking for manufacturers to adopt new products on a regular basis around that time - PPE, ventilators etc. It read like this went through process, unlike many of the other cases we’ve heard about recently. Hancock pulling a pint in his pub a few years ago = corruption is all a bit sixth form, and pretty baseless from the guardian.

"Bourne categorically denies he profited from his personal contact with Hancock." Is it me, or are those two apparently direct statements ever-so-slightly incompatible? Is there any honesty or integrity left in this world?

There’s plenty of dodgy procurement deals coming to light that should be fully interrogated. I don’t believe this looks like one of them. If you want to get excited and throw names around, crack on.

“I know a bloke down the pub who can sort that” is how I expect... on 18:53 - Nov 26 with 727 views | Darth_Koont | Ultimately, it’s corruption but I think these people are more incompetent than anything else. Politics rewards unconscious incompetence. I’m sure Matt Hancock doesn’t have the first idea about how the world works or how some people are much better at what they do through experience and choosing that role. For him, I’m sure the world looks like a sweet shop and the most qualified people to run it are the ones who have their hand out.

I really don’t know what that is supposed to mean. It’s just my opinion that the piece was weak journalism and jumping on it retracts from the genuine corrupt contracts that this govt have clearly overseen over the period of the pandemic. I’ve spent more time than I’d usually choose to on this today already today so I’ll leave it. I am finding this site more and more of an unpleasant place to spend time of late.
