You could give it to a homeless person. Then you can be drunk and feel good about yourself the next morning, and forget about a little bit more of your liver dying. [Post edited 26 Nov 2020 22:50]

Adds to the dramatic effect. Just read that Heaven in London will be selling MacDonslds alongside copious amounts of alcohol....so the jury is out. Crazy days! Edit...do people really care about their vote counts? [Post edited 26 Nov 2020 22:56]

Landlady at my local has just announced 'listen, as far as some of my regulars are concerned, a packet of pork scratchings is considered adequate solids for the weekend. Game on.'

Dunno, I thought it was amusing which I assumed was the point. No one should be selling MacDonslds anywhere in my opinion. Their main rivals are bad enough, without giving credit to copycat cheap burger firms.

I hope you'll be reporting her to prevent yourself being overwhelmed at work.

I don't think pork scratchings have an immediate effect on health. They're part of a more long term, gradual process really.

The key is getting an upvote from the right posters. My upvotes, for example, are the equivalent of a Paul Hollywood handshake (a GBBO reference, not a euphemism).

Many years ago in the carefree junior days of my blossoming Civil Service career, I dealt with Social Security appeals. Once of my colleagues return looking rather queasy from an appeal hearing. A claimant (as they were in those days) had appealed against being refused a couple of quid a week extra for the additional laundry caused by his eczema (or possibly psoriasis, I forget which). His representative from the local Welfare Rights turned up with evidence: a large plastic bag full of bits of diseased skin. The claimant, who was one of our longest-serving and most valued customers, was thereafter known to one and all in the office as 'Scabby Frank'.

Occasionally these types needs reminding they are dealing with real human beings and not just some numbers. I'd have been equally disturbed, but then I would have taken the claimant's [clearly real] circumstances on board in the first place!

Level 2 question... on 23:46 - Nov 26 with 813 views | Sarge | There should be an exemption for ticketed events. Nobody goes to football to get drunk and at PR nobody can afford to either so it’s yet another rule that doesn’t make sense in practice. Edit I realise this is not a football discussion but I’m making it one so there [Post edited 27 Nov 2020 2:03]

Not necessarily true. You have to order a “substantial meal” not just a meal. Which means substantial has to be defined if the rule is going to be enforced. Which is obviously a minefield. They’re absolutely useless.

Level 2 question... on 07:59 - Nov 27 with 577 views | mikeybloo88 | One person's starter is another persons substantial meal...my wife often has only a starter and a side of thrice cooked chips. Not a question that concerns me however, given I'm in tier 3... Local area in South Lincs went into lockdown in tier 1 with 130/100k and currently has 170/100k and falling with another week of lockdown data to come. Everyone fully prepared for tier 2 so a bit of a kick in the knackers given we're 50 miles from any area with vaguely high rates...
