It is a vague term, generally in the 'not many' ball park, but where Teddy Bishop is concerned I worry that ' a few' weeks might be quite a lot of weeks.
I don't think ' a few' is really a defined number but we do have a bit of a guideline in that Churchill described the fighter pilots who fought in the Battle Of Britain as 'The Few' and there were 2332 of them, or thereabouts, so by that yardstick Teddy should be out for about 45 years. More optimistically Churchill might only have been referring to the pilots who shot down enemy aircraft, which was about 40% of them, so that's only 17 years.
Lets hope it is the latter. |  |

Apparently we determine injuries by prodding now and gauging the response.
Possibly the 'Ows' represents a number, and the volume specifies whether that translates to days or weeks.

Several is 2 or 3
And a few is 3 or 4.
After that you start to move to 1 month, couple of months etc.
