Phil's predicted Team.. me likey 15:36 - Nov 27 with 1762 viewsunstableblue

Tomas Holy
Luke Chambers, Luke Woolfenden, Mark McGuinness, Stephen Ward

Andre Dozzell, Emyr Huws, Alan Judge

Keanan Bennetts, James Norwood, Jack Lankester

I expect to see a very different performance from Ward and Chambo (both terrible recently), and Dozzell will be more effective than McGavin

This will all be about whether the team step up and fire up to back their manager...I actually think we'll win.

I'd prefer Chambo to be in the middle where he can have most influence. Not sure that our two youngest CBs are enough at this present time. This would allow Dona to fit in at RB as I too think he did well against Pompey.
Not liking AJ so would prefer JL in midfield with Jackson on right and KB on or visa versa.
Question is, will we see Dobra on the bench?

There's not too much to like about a Town line up that includes Alan Judge.

Won't be far wrong, but Lankester will get the axe.

Naughty naughty boy for giving the ball away.

Judge gave it away 25 times, but f*ck it, he can stay in.

I agree I'd like to see Jackson as a wide attacker, his pace alone, with Norwood is compelling

I like Wolf/McGuiness.. they just need the senior full backs to be on their game

Yep thats basically the team I got slated for earlier!

Think Donacien offers more at RB than Chambo.

Woolf and McGuiness looked all over the place on Tuesday to be fair. Really not sure they have the experience to play together regularly and we need a more experienced head in there and someone a bit more no nonsense.

Donacien doesn't really offer anything going forwards, and we rely heavily on full backs to help out there so not sure that's the case

Donacien got forward more than ever against Portsmouth.

The problem with full backs is that they are confidence players, when flying they will steam forwards, take players on and run all day. When struggling, they will go into defensive mode!

Donacien's confidence must be as low as its possible to be!

I just think he has a lot more to offer and Chambo's time is definitely up pretty much.

I'm not sure Donacien has ever contributed anything going forwards, whereas Chambers has been one of our better performers this season - Chambers time will be up when someone plays better than him consistently.

If it were a case of soidifying things more centrally I wouldn't be adverse to sticking him there but it makes us weaker at full back

If we're sticking with this shape it's probably what he'll go with, but it's pretty uninspiring. If we're being honest Holy is absolute t0ss, Huws and Judge have been garbage of late, Lankester was dreadful on Tuesday (and last weekend but will get away with that because he popped up with a late winner) and the less said about Bennetts the better.

We need a much, much better showing than we've seen over recent weeks, particularly from Lankester & Bennetts tomorrow if they are occupying those wide roles. Without the creativity of Edwards there we become very one dimensional.

When was the last time we played well? Blackpool, 7 weeks ago? It does feel like we've been absolutely shafted now having Downes, Bishop, Nolan, Edwards in particular all out at the same time, but we need to be much better tomorrow than we have been in a while.

Chambers performed very well earlier in the season, when not particularly tested defensively.

But last season's errors are creeping back in and with much better wide players to mark in the coming weeks, I am nervous!

Most of our issues against Hull came on the other side of the pitch. First two goals were both from that side. Chambers didn't get the right side of Magennis, but you have to ask where our CBs were if Chambers is marking their central striker.

You can trace any goal back to some kind of error, but we really did make life hard for ourselves on Tuesday. The first came from a really poor clearance from Huws and the 3rd an awful ball from Lankester that was intercepted. Their other best chance was from a sh1t Judge cross and Bennetts gifting them the ball.

2nd one had a sniff of offside but again we were miles off them in the midfield. That Smallwood in midfield for them seemed to have acres on the ball. Huws & Judge were ruined in there.

When we're so slack in possession in key areas, we're going to put undue pressure on ourselves defensively. Need a distinct improvement tomorrow, I'm glad Dozzell is back.

Yeah, they were all poor goals and we made it fsr too easy for them really. Hopefully the midfield will have a bit more shape this week.

He should’ve done better for the second goal, but think a bit harsh to say errors are creeping in at the moment

I’d go Dozzell, McGavin and Huws in there tomorrow with what is available - just can’t have Judge as one of the 3 as is just all over the place - Tuesday was especially bad - we didn’t have a midfield

Don't think Ward has been the same since he came back from injury.
