To prospective managers there is a very short list of questions to be asked, either at first interview or second interview. If they get the answer they want to these questions, Paul Cook, Eddie Howe, or anyone else would come to a great club like Ipswich. The questions are:

What will be my terms and conditions (obviously)?
What is the playing budget?
Can I bring in my own people?
How easy will it be for the club to shift those people (players and others) who I don't want to keep?
What is the transfer kitty?

Therein lies the rub. Not much else really matters.

The transfer kitty, with a ball of wool, is what ME hands to managers to distract them from his answers to what budget they will have.

Personally think we should of got rid of Lambo whilst Chris Hughton was available and done everything we could to get him. He would of been the perfect man to take us all the way back to the Prem in my opinion.

Why would any decent manager want to come to a toxic place like this. All they get is negativity if we are not playing like Barcelona every week.

Hey, I haven't questioned whether Eddie Howe is out of our price range or has bigger fish to fry than a sh1t League One Ipswich team. So I do have that going for me.

But you are happy to call the team you claim to support as sh1t , well done .

I don't get it. If we want to be the best, we have to hire the best. The wage cap does not cover the manager.

Time for ME to get his cheque book out.

Klopp or Guardiola for me.

Failing that, if he really can't persuade them to take on the project, there is always McGreal.

I dont think its beyond possiblity that Eddie Howe would come here. It would be a perfect match. A great club that's fallen & a youngish ambitious manager who might want a good challenge. If someone asked me who would I want, it think it would be him.

Because for anyone who is able to bring success, it is a wonderful job. Town's rightful place, like Norwich's, is bottom half of Prem / top half of Championship. So, it could a great job in its own right, and a perfect stepping stone to a job with a top ten club.

Worth adding that prospective managers also look at whether they have a hard act to follow, as this steers expectations. Not a deterrent, in our case!

No way is a manager with Eddie Howe's current clout touching us with a barge pole. The best we could get whilst we were in the championship was Lambert yet suddenly we're going to get a young, british manager who has spent the last recent years either keeping a team in the prem playing fluid football, or getting automatic promotion from the Championship.

Give your head a wobble. We'd be lucky to get Curbishley
