Blood tests for cancer 18:49 - Nov 27 with 658 viewsFrimleyBlue

Just seen on the news trials underway for blood tests that could show cancer before it gets into the 'danger' period of its growth.

If this trial is successful what a wonderful piece of news for our children's futures

Fifty different cancers, although not all are convinced about the accuracy of blood tests as a diagnostic tool for cancer. But, early days...

Just re watched it.

Says more than 50 types. To be tested via the NHS. It's early days but has potential to be a game changer.

Even if it never gets to the point of showing what cancer... To be able to tell something is wrong and needs further investigation will be brilliant. I know someone personally who went through the same situation as the news piece where they went in for back pain. They died 3 weeks later. She had gone to the gp for 2 months prior with complaints.

Father of a friend of mine had similar, told by his doc it was something else. He's still alive, but has been very ill.

Anything which aids early diagnosis is a good development.

Anything that could spot pancreatic cancer early would be godsend. As well as certain haematological nasties.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
