Well said Stuart Watson on 10:48 - Nov 29 by JoHnNnY | Would you resign from a 5 year well paid contract? Evans shoulders that blame. |
If it was clear I was incapable and incompetent at it... actually, fair dos, if someone was stupid enough to give me that I’d wait for the pay off. It’s horrible but it almost feels like it’s a battle with Lambert’s mental health - if he gets to the point where he says “stuff it” because he cannot cope anymore, then Evans will happily accept the resignation but otherwise he’ll just leave the club, as Stuart Watson says, in purgatory. Saying that, didn’t Evans supposedly reject Jewell’s resignation more than once before finally bowing to the inevitable post Derby?

Well said Stuart Watson on 10:32 - Nov 29 by Ryorry | How can he not have known? If he didn't, that would just underline his incompetence/lack of care. He must know by now, surely - if he doesn't, that underlines the above even more. If he still doesn't take any action to reverse it, it's just a further indication of ITFC being stuffed under his ownership. |
I agree... but part of me wants to believe he didn’t, for the exact reasons you mention. If Evans knew, and was ok with this, it just proves how out of touch he is with the business of football and how little his words mean. It’s the confirmation that we all kind of already knew... he doesn’t give a damn about this football club, beyond the bottom line.

Well said Stuart Watson on 11:09 - Nov 29 with 2035 views | floridaboy | Not sure about the who would replace Lambert. Going on past appointments ME will get someone in that no one thought about. It is obvious that Chambers has the respect of the players so why not him, with Burley as a director of football/mentor. Skuse as coach with the likes of Dyer and Nash added to the team. At least Chambers knows the club and would most likely get the fans on board!

You say that, but there's a fair few numbskulls who still view him as 'Mick's man'.

Well said Stuart Watson on 09:37 - Nov 29 by itfcjoe | It's done for him here, on a human level it's almost not fair of ME to keep him in position whilst he sorts out his replacement - because there is surely very little chance that this isn't what is happening now. Lambert has to go through the motions, to try and get us up for the Oxford game on Tuesday, then potentially traipse the width of the country on Saturday.......just get it over with, and get him out before he can do any more damage to the club and himself |
The other trouble with leaving the current guy in post whilst you sound out candidates. What happens if you successfully line someone up, then (not implausibly) beat the teams in 19th and 11th? Do you turn round and say, ooh, hang on? Once you've made the decision that he's not here long term, you have to bite the bullet.

We've got people in the coaching staff who can take over for a few games. Dyer obviously wants a shot at it, we've got Butcher who has managed at a number of places. Just have them take over for a few games whilst you sort it out.

He did that with Magilton - we drew at Bristol City, who were in a similar place to us in the table at the time, and defeated Norwich before he swung the axe.

I like Chambers, not because he’s Mick’s man, because he has good a decent enough player over the years. His time is very nearly up in my honest opinion. Whether he would consider cutting it short to take on ITFC who knows - I suspect he would. He clearly has the leadership skills of a manager, tactical nous, we simply don’t know.

I wouldn't have anyone who has already been close to this group of players and is too matey...blood needs to run and heads need to roll and that would be impossible to do impartially by an existing employee. Fresh eyes and thinking needed...

Well said Stuart Watson on 09:50 - Nov 29 by Marshalls_Mullet | What I find difficult to understand is how he can say 'the fans are the most important thing'... ...then he bans the club's main fanzine and voice of the fans from press conferences. Hypocritical. There's no way he will back down, he's not got the humility to do that. |
If he truly meant that he would recognise he is taking us backwards and resign with immediate effect. The bloke is a fraud on every level.

Agreed, he’s part of the losing mindset in the club, it would also be a massive snub to Keiron who’s worked to get the coaching badges and deserves the chance way way more than Chambers ever does.

Yes...I'm no Lord Sugar but strikes me that when a failing organisation needs a new leader you don't appoint the person currently in charge of the department which is arguably failing the most I.e. the defence

Yeah, the tough love approach of Hurst and Lambert has really paid dividends. That's definitely the way forward.

Klug? Christ. As much as I’d admire the man for his incredible service and ability with youth team players, a first team manager he is not.

lambert reminds me of trump. tells everyone how great he is. knows he's is on his way out so trying cause mayhem at the club before the new (president) manager comes in.
