Thanks. It's also worth pointing out that I have a press card and have worked as a freelancer for other media since 1996, currently for the Colchester Evening Gazette. But for the pandemic I would also still be working for the BBC. I'm also an NUJ member.
I dispute the 'fanzine' or 'fansite' tags as what I don't write myself is written by other professional journalists, who we pay, most of whom have written for national newspapers, same with photographers. In hindsight, we probably should have changed the name of the site when it became the mainly news site to something more newsy. |

The club are out of touch with reality and being run with dizzying incompetence. The evidence has been there for some time, but inalienable examples are currently coming thick and fast. |  |

Further to that, TWTD has also been an academy sponsor for seven years. Not sure this is any way to treat and talk about a sponsor, let alone everything else.

I sound like a broken record at this point but is there anywhere else we, as fans, can apply pressure?
I'm at a loss for words, this whole situation has made me incredibly angry. You shouldn't be treated like this, and to have O'Neill come out and lie like that is unforgiveable.
At the absolute minimum we should be seeing a retraction and apology but as you say they just seem to want to dig in and hope this all goes away.

Toiling away in the 3rd division, a manager blaming anything and everything under the sun apart from himself, attacks on the media from said manager, further attacks on the fanase from the manager complete with Donald Trump levels of obfuscation and double-speak, the banning of a journalist from conferences, tone-deaf, patronising speeches from senior club officials, Watson and Phil reporting of Lambert/Taylor promoting a quasi Red Scare at the club, fans feeling forced into boycotting matches etc.

Its all hugely sad. We seem to be in a perpetual groundhog day of failure and decline, followed by grumpy managers digging their heels in and then Evans supporting them beyond their sell by date.
The club always seem to be behind the curve. And the banning of you and lack of understanding about how integral TWTD is to the club is another massive own goal. TWTD is one of the best sites out there. Certainly at our current level. Clearly you will be invited back into the fold at some stage but its going to be a souring in the relationship.
Lambert also now seems to not be prepared to accept any negative question. Its ludicrous given his current record.
