Bury Town for me I've been going down on and off for a couple of seasons and actually got a season ticket this year. In truth I'd fallen out of love for Ipswich when MM told the fans to F off at Norwich and although I went back for a few games last season it doesn't feel the same as it did before. Still want us to do well but I find that watching non league is like stepping back in time to when I felt like I had a real connection with football. Seeing proper tackles go in and the ref just waving play on was a highlight as well as the obvious being able to have a beer while watching the game. I suggest anyone who hasn't already tries it and you might be pleasantly surprised by how it feels to enjoy watching football again.

I find non league poor to watch unless it is a decent standard - anything below step 4 is unwatchable for me That leaves me with Bury, Needham, Lowestfot, Leiston, Sudbury and Felixstowe.... When you live in Ipswich none are particularly convenient; if I didn't live here I wouldn't be bothering though

Stowmarket have certainly played some entertaining stuff in the last few seasons that I've been going. Undoubtedly much more attacking and progressive than even ITFC's style of play (!)

Again though, it's a half hour drive to get there for me so not something I can see myself doing regularly! But if I lived in Stow sure I get along there

So what non league club are we going to start supporting? on 00:09 - Dec 4 by hoppy | We're quite involved with things at Ipswich Wanderers, so been following them a lot. Both boys are playing for a couple of the teams there. I've had my company with shirt sponsorships for a couple of the teams for the last 3 years, along with designing a lot of the new signage that has been going up, and KJ and I are both on the club committee. They've had a good start to the season, playing well, up the top of their league, so hopefully heading for promotion - just don't want any more shut downs to stunt that progress. The biggest challenge is making sure finances are coming in, as with being in Tier 2, it has a massive impact on a club like that, as without being able to sell alcohol and the whole table service situation makes things difficult. We've seen a lot of decent games there, so if you are looking for an entertaining local game to watch with social distancing etc in place - keep an eye out for upcoming fixtures. |
One of my good mates is captain there so without a doubt I'm doing this. They're called Ipswich and play in blue, funnily enough the only thing I can connect with our club about. Other than that it isn't the club that was founded in 1878.

I agree completely with your first line. Even though I'd donated the iFollow tenner to Find the other day, I still ended up watching the game at Oxford. It's part of my fabric. It hurts to see the situation we are currently in, but I could never walk away. During the shut out from Portman Road, being able to go watch Ipswich Wanderers has been good to get the fix of watching live football, and the involvement we've had with the club has grown as well, but if it was an either/or, then for me, ITFC still always wins out.
