It seems from the statement that Evans has made and what LON has said recently that the club appear to hold some elements of our fanbase as being extremely negative and the cause of the clubs downfall and this may well be basically Lambert thinking that the club needs rids of these people but he knows that if he comes out and says it then basically it will make things a thousand times worse. |
Let’s be brutally honest here. Our fan base are a bunch of pussycats compared to a lot of other clubs fans. These managers that moan about their perceived “ rough treatment”, only moan like this here BECAUSE were such a mild mannered bunch, and they KNOW they can get away with it . I think in Paul’s mind he thinks this:
1. I turned up at Ipswich and think to myself this is a bigger club that I thought, that is on its knees and needs root and branch change that will take time
2. The team has had passing coached out them, lacks confidence, is not exploiting its youth, and players are performing below their ability
3. The fans are disillusioned and disconnected after years of poor football
4. I’ve come into the club and:
- put significant efforts into building a bond with fans
- got the team passing and dominating posession
- we’ve put in really strong performances with great goals
- I reacted to valid criticism and have stuck with players and formation
- there is incremental improvement in our style of play, and we’re progressing our youth
5. I’ve had limited backing from Marcus, I’ve had the worst injury crisis of my career and yet we are third
6. THE LOCAL TIN POT MEDIA, the hopeless Watson and Brenner, ARE MAKING A STORY OUT OF A CLUB IN CRISIS AND MY BAD MANAGEMENT AND TURNING THE FANS AGAINST ME AND THE PROJECT - and they need to be changed or ignored
Sadly Paul is just in denial that he is at a family club that have given him huge leeway given his win %, and strange media persona, and he just hasn’t progressed the team quickly enough. The local media are just reflecting the fans frustrations, they’re not fuelling it.
Paul - whilst I get a lot of where you’re coming from! increase the speed of team progression, make us more effective in the final third even with players you have, go on a media charm offensive, reinstate Phil, take brennner and Watson for what they are.... cheer up!! |  |
