19 years since Milan!!! Who was there!?!? 20:11 - Dec 6 with 4039 viewsunstableblue

Went with 4 mates... such a blast; albeit not sure the Milan fans were quite as interested in the fixture!

Who else was there?

Poll: How many points will Town get from 5 (Wat, Boro, Hull, Cov, Hudd)?

Yes, had a great couple of evenings there. You can see our ITFC St. Neots flag in the photo of Armstrong celebrating scoring his penalty.

I was there. Does anybody else remember 2 Sunderland (I think, red and white stripe top) at the front??

Yep, we were there.....but to be honest, preferred Moscow and Helsingborg. Especially Helsingborg, that was a mental couple of nights!

My son and myself had the pleasure 👍what sticks in the mind are the Beattie chants in particular and the bottom tier in the SanSiro getting fuller and fuller.
The memories 😀

Didn't go to Moscow but you're right Helsingborg was fantastic.

I was there. Never forget the bus ride through the city centre under police bike escort. Plus being left in the ground after the Milan fans had left. A few of their fans in the 'ultra section watching us sing sh1t ground no fans.

Moscow was different......only around 1,000 town fans there and my first time watching Ipswich abroad, so always a special moment. Interesting place to visit, but not your typical football trip away destination.

Helsinborg was superb. We stayed in Copenhagen, which was pricey, but had 2 great nights in their clubs. In Helsingborg, the day, match and after match was just a full on top football day out.

The Milan fans were probably not that interested in the fixture since it was Inter who was playing.

My old man got in trouble in Helsingborg, he got well oiled and ran on the pitch. Bang on 5.00 on this

My ex-mrs went to all the european games, got absolutely hammered with Sheepshanks at one and she told me all sorts of stuff about that.

Yep me and my son went on a 'day trip'.

Left PR something like 0430 on the morning of the game for Stansted.
The flight was delayed and doubts about going at all because of fog in Milan and got back to PR about 0430 the next day I think.

Being there was quite an experience wasn't it?

Bought my tickets in Milan. About 8 quid each. Was meant to be in the home areas but got let in to the away end by 2 confused Italian coppers.

me... flew in from San Francisco; Town took too long to get my tickets to me in California so had to buy a second one that I just managed to get from a Suffolk-based mate on the night

so I have one unused ticket which is nice

My memories

Approaching the San Siro and being overwhelmed, feeling sorry for Bam Bam being stuck up front on his own with no support, being locked in for a couple of hours at the final whistle and making sheep noises as the Italian stewards who hadn't got a clue and staying at the same hotel as the Beat which meant a very late night at the bar!

Oh yes was there, great weekend away. Fun looking around Milan the day after with all the town fans in their shirts.

I was there with my two sons. They were mobbed by a group of crazy, gorgeous teenage girls in a city centre sports shop.

At the game the stewards seemed amused by the blow up sex doll being bounced crowd and some stupid idiot threw a glass bottle on to the pitch amongst all the fun. Shame about the football. Happy days.

Yep, made three or four days of it. Remember the central square being full of blue and white, and bumping into people I knew from around town all over the city. Kept those memories bottled right up and am glad of it as something like that probably won't happen again. Honourable mention for a chaotic night in Hollywoods (the Milan one!).

Moscow was , as you say, different. Only place where I’ve been approached in the toilet by a cop offering to sell me his jacket!

Like you some of my best memories were not up at the San Siro.... but the afternoon around the centre and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.. chic bars and coffee shops being by Suffolk types in Town kits... hilarious

Do you remember Sheepshanks heading over to the fans at the end to salute them!!

I remember being under floating Town kit.... high on Peroni and life!
