January figures are going to be horrid aren't they with the relaxed Xmas rules.

Isn’t there typically at least a seven day lag between catching COVID and then developing symptoms/being admitted to hospital?

On average there is but speaking with the nurse friend I have it can be as early as the 2nd day depending on underlying health conditions.

I’d have thought anyone with underlying health conditions would be more cautious, lockdown or not.

Hospital admissions nationally are still going down though, so maybe your hospital is an outlier.

Last week I checked the latest donations for the foodbank and some OCD poster had donated like £x.19 to make the total a round number 😁😁😁

What sort of dick would do that!

Edit ...thinking about it nobody with OCD could donate a random amount like that...probably pretty cool!

But it is often those with carers or who catch it from family members.

The truth is, the more relaxed the population generally are, the more vulnerable people will die.

It’s gone to sht here in Wales since we came out of the mini lockdown. It’s rife in schools with most having at least 3 or 4 year groups off. Some are now starting to close as they haven’t got enough Covid-free teachers left even for a single year group. I’ve gone from only knowing a few people to have it to almost everyone we know having someone affected in their household. Mrs Swanners isn’t well so we’re off for tests tomorrow.

The firebreaks definitely worked. And probably should have been the default position if they wanted to keep a lid on it.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
