Fans didn’t ‘force’ McCarthy out. Fans were vocal about what they were paying to watch. The minority were in poor taste and chose to vent their frustration incorrectly, others stopped going to save their eyeballs drying out. The decision was made by the board and McCarthy not to continue. Blaming fans for wanting better is a backward logic - using it as a stick to beat them with is pathetic. |
Better than what though ? on the 17th lowest budget in the champ we finished 6th 7th and 9th. He also regularly unearthed multi million pound players for peanuts.

consistently lined us up at home to defend against teams we ought to have been attacking,
stubbornly picked players irrespective of form and out of position and responded to fans by saying he’d do it everyday of the week if he could,
stated that the more that fans chanted to bring on a player the less likely he would be to do so,
led us to what was at the time our lowest league position for over fifty years.

On your last point, he told a specific section of the fanbase at Norwich to feck of, not everyone. Frankly if anybody was part of those joining in those embarrassing chants at Norwich then they had it coming, If they weren't involved then there should've been no offence taken.

The time was right for Mick to go.
I think the main issue was the core of the team were either aging or were leaving without adequate replacements. Players who had once been on the periphery were core players by the time Mick left and I don't think it was due to them improving as players but more that we had not replaced with adequate replacements over time. |  | | |

The thing is we were always going to be scraping the barrel, no manager is going say dream job when your budget is relegation zone and fan expectations are play offs and higher.
fans should have been on MEs back not MM , if he had been properly funded he probably would have got us up, and the fact MM got stick for over performing was why he lashed out and made his position untenable | |
