Haha! Remember that time when we sat mid table in the championship.. on 17:55 - Dec 12 by Keaneish | Fans didn’t ‘force’ McCarthy out. Fans were vocal about what they were paying to watch. The minority were in poor taste and chose to vent their frustration incorrectly, others stopped going to save their eyeballs drying out. The decision was made by the board and McCarthy not to continue. Blaming fans for wanting better is a backward logic - using it as a stick to beat them with is pathetic. |
Better than what though ? on the 17th lowest budget in the champ we finished 6th 7th and 9th. He also regularly unearthed multi million pound players for peanuts. The football was dour but far far better than what followed, the fans did force him out and their ire should have been toward ME as if he had given him the appropriate finds or even the transfer fees he acquired we would have seen even better results

Haha! Remember that time when we sat mid table in the championship.. on 18:43 - Dec 12 by Ryorry | Funnily enough most people on here aren't spending their Saturday early evening posting for something like the 960th time since he left, nostalgic wails about our last but one manager who had the team playing unwatchably boring football whilst stagnant in mid-table of the second tier |
Always good to have the views on the football from someone who wasn’t going to watch the football.

Haha! Remember that time when we sat mid table in the championship.. on 17:27 - Dec 12 by Churchman | Just because people like me wanted McCarthy gone, doesn’t mean I wanted two village idiots to succeed him. I just wanted something a bit better that the dross and arrogance McCarthy was serving up. I didn’t think that was too much to ask, but clearly it was given how rotten this club is. |
Spot on. What a pointless OP from someone convincing themselves that we'd have been in the Prem by now if MM hadn't gone. It was rubbish by the time he left and we were already in decline.

Haha! Remember that time when we sat mid table in the championship.. on 18:34 - Dec 12 by SouthBucksBlue | I hate to give you the attention you crave but yes I remember. You mean the manger who: had us playing boring dour football, consistently lined us up at home to defend against teams we ought to have been attacking, stubbornly picked players irrespective of form and out of position and responded to fans by saying he’d do it everyday of the week if he could, stated that the more that fans chanted to bring on a player the less likely he would be to do so, led us to what was at the time our lowest league position for over fifty years. Oh and memorably told his own fans to feck off. |
On your last point, he told a specific section of the fanbase at Norwich to feck of, not everyone. Frankly if anybody was part of those joining in those embarrassing chants at Norwich then they had it coming, If they weren't involved then there should've been no offence taken. As for the footballing matters then yeah his time was up and the club needed to try a different direction.
Haha! Remember that time when we sat mid table in the championship.. on 19:58 - Dec 12 with 594 views | townblue | The time was right for Mick to go. I think the main issue was the core of the team were either aging or were leaving without adequate replacements. Players who had once been on the periphery were core players by the time Mick left and I don't think it was due to them improving as players but more that we had not replaced with adequate replacements over time.

The thing is we were always going to be scraping the barrel, no manager is going say dream job when your budget is relegation zone and fan expectations are play offs and higher. fans should have been on MEs back not MM , if he had been properly funded he probably would have got us up, and the fact MM got stick for over performing was why he lashed out and made his position untenable

Of all the low points of recent times, our own fans joining the Norwich lot in a sing song at carrow road against our own manager, is as bad as it can possibly get. Tinpot, halfwit, w@nkers.

I thought MM set the team up quite well for that game too.
