Another Sunday morning waking depressed at what we are 08:03 - Dec 13 with 3834 views | textbackup | Record v top 10 last season: 15pts from 54. Record v top 10 so far this season: 3pts from 21. How long can Evans seriously sit back and watch this happen, he does realise a playoff finish means we’d need to beat teams around us? The countries most depressing football club is a fantastic way to sum us up. Absolutely nothing worth caring about, or being excited for.

Agreed, but first thing's first we need a competent manager in place and we can then work with them to put the right structure in at the club to build success.

Evans, you are a dick whose decisions over 13 years are sucking the life out of the club. |
I try not to take notice of what they are doing because it hurts a little bit more.... that said I simple can’t hate them anymore, the gulf is huge between us, and we really need to use them as a team to aspire to be. Which hurts

But this is essentially the problem with our fanbase. We give Evans too much of an easy ride which I guess is because of what he finances. Interestingly other owners don't feel the need to always bring up how much they finance each year because it was their decision to buy the club in the first place. As for Norwich, they protested the owners (wrongly if you ask me) for their League One relegation and they certainly made their voices heard and clear after that hilarious collapse against Colchester. Board acted swiftly and quickly and to be fair their owners have a 100th of the wealth of ours yet actually have a vague clue about football, or at least enough to employ people who do. David McNally and Stuart Webber are two excellent appointments.

Fascinating. His analysis of the game and his sense of ensuring that the team is flexible and needs to adapt to circumstances is a striking comparison with Lambert's, stubbornness, inarticulacy and platitudes. I was sat a few rows behind Lambert yesterday - he was barking commands in the first 30 minutes but was largely silent after Pompey's second goal, and for the whole of the second half. Next to zero encouragement during that period.

There's a 14 page thread on the Sunderland forum about this interview https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/johnson-post-match.1536442/

Another Sunday morning waking depressed at what we are on 08:40 - Dec 13 by itfcjoe | Look at Lee Johnson at Sunderland, and more importantly listen to him....he knows where the squad is, and who needs replacing as is prepped for the job. If you have someone like Danny Cowley the job he’d be able to give you a better overview than Lambert could already. These younger, more detailed managers turn up to interviews with full plans on what they will do with what is already there from day one. |
I’m quite sure that Hurst rolled up with a super portfolio of plans. I’ll make you a healthy profit by selling MM’s dinosaurs and replace them with some fresh & eager up & coming pups at a fraction of the price. I’m equally certain that’s exactly what Warnock didn’t do at Cardiff, Rotherham & now Middlesbrough. You can pick the right oldie & the wrong young’un. That said, you’re increasingly convincing me that the Cowleys are the best option right now.

I remember Brendan Rogers speaking very highly of Lee Johnson about 6 years ago, when he was either Oldham or Barnsley manager. The only problem with Johnson is that, in every job he does, it’s spectacular feast followed by a couple of months of hideous gruel. During the famine he starts rambling utter nonsense. Suddenly, there’s 10 game unbeaten streak and he’s back in the game. I confidently predict he’ll have Sunderland top 2 by January and struggling to stay in the top 6 by April. Or 12th by February and 2nd by May. [Post edited 13 Dec 2020 20:18]

David McNally didn’t last long and has been gone for a few years now. Wasn’t popular and was paid off. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

what does being liked matter? he was ruthless and made decisions that resulted in ncfc going up. instead we've had yes men with no idea about football.
