Quotes Brenner Wooley as saying after Saturdays defeat we, that's Ipswich Town are Britain's most miserable club ! What do we think about that ?

Unpopular opinion... what if our youths aren’t actually that good? Downes has obvious quality. Do we still count Dozzell as a youngster? He clearly should be playing at a higher level. Beyond that... I don’t see any real standouts or players taking Division 3 by storm. Caveat; it’s hard to shine under Lambert’s godawful set up, but still. Lankester is anonymous every game. Wolfenden looks half the player he was.

Maybe being harsh but it seems like all we ever do is TALK about how good our youths are but we see precious little evidence

Its not unpopular it's realistic. I like the optimism in Clive's post and wish i felt that too but as a support basis because we have been so starved of any success i think there is a natural tendency to want to believe in our youth players, because that frankly is the only way we can have any success of hope for the future. BUT that does not mean they are as good as we think they are.

We had this the whole time in Championship and some good players came through and some moved on. Now we are in L1, and some of our youth players really should be stamping their authority on games and showing what they have. This is the level a lot of loan players come to show something to their parent clubs. But unfortunately all our youth players are showing is this is about their level.

No one is week in week out tearing it up and I think that is fairly damning. None of the current players with the exception of Downes would feature every week in a current Championship team.

Poll: Is it now time to sack Paul Cook?

It would be a massive benefit if we had a management team that could coach/improve players and organise/set up a team. And that's before you even get to being able to man-manage Generation Z players.

I find it difficult to judge anyone at the moment when the manager is so rank bad. There is so much more to get out of this squad.
