Started out in the first few hours with the shock of Lambert getting a thoroughly undeserved and millstone of a 5 year contract.
Then saw us momentarily get back to the top of the league before sliding down outside of the top 6, and finally finishing 11th
Then after months and months we start the new season, despite continuing to have a massive squad as Covid hits our rivals, we end the year outside of the top 6 still.
The manager has banned the most read ITFC fansite from press conferences, the owner has told the fans to 'be careful what you wish for' and the fans have put banners up at the training ground and stadium.
What a year, what a club.

Mid.Table.Mediocrity.
In.The.3rd.Tier.
And it's the fans expectations that are the problem....

The mid table comment in the OP was clearly in relation to our results across 2020. Results which extrapolated across a 46 game season would have seen us finish 8th, 8th, 10th, 11th and 7th in the last 5 full League One seasons |  |

In terms of PPG believe we are 8th at the moment with 1.78.

We didn't 'finish' 11th, because no one finished anywhere. It was still a ridiculous decision to continue with promotion given how much of the season was unplayed. Promotion and relegation should have been cancelled for League One and Two given that there were still so many games to play. Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe weren't close to being confirmed promoted so didn't deserve to go up. Hell we could have still made the play offs given our favourable run of fixtures in early April.
That being said our tail-off from mid January was pretty terrible, I'd have been pretty shocked had we made the play offs even if the fixtures were played. |  |

Easy acceptance of the rhetoric peddled by the club and owner about how he is keeping us afloat and how it's tough for a club our size to do any better than we are.
Now it's about hopefully getting into the play-offs in a 'difficult league' before mid-table being the benchmark and so on and so on.

I don't anyone is happy with the slide. But when you replace a Championship quality squad with League 1 quality players, and are relegated to League 1, you soon have to realise that is where you are competiting.
We are now in League 1, with League 1 quality players, and we are just competiting with another 7/8 teams for a top 6 spot.
We definitely do not have the squad to be walking this league, especially with injuries and an incompetent manager.
That is not accepting anything, because nobody is happy with us being in League 1, but it is just adjusting expectations to what we have at our disposal. |  |
