You know England cricketers have a player number, with Tom Armitrage being number 1 and Zak Crawley is 696.
The next player to make their England debut will be number 697.
My questions is I wonder what number the next town player to make their town debut would be?

I guess it depends when you start and what you include. I'm starting from Town's first game in the Football League and including loanees and Mickey Mouse cup competitions.

If league games only Liam Gibbs was Towns 605th player (being the last player to make a league debut), but various players have only played in cup games i.e. the likes of Ndaba, Chirewa, Siziba etc. plus am sure others have only made FA/League Cup appearances etc. in years gone by, and not made a league breakthrough. England cricketers have different cap numbers for each format of the game (Test, ODI and T20)*. So it would perhaps be appropriate to separate out League and cup appearances in football.
* e.g. Joe Root is 655 in Tests, 227 in ODIs and 63 at T20. |  |
