Pfizer boss rather blunt in his assessment today:
“Pfizer said there was 'no data' in its studies to show its vaccine protects against Covid when taken 12 weeks apart.
In a thinly-veiled swipe at the UK, the US firm warned that any 'alternative' dosing regimens should be closely monitored by health authorities.
'Data from the phase three study demonstrated that, although partial protection from the vaccine appears to begin as early as 12 days after the first dose, two doses of the vaccine are required to provide the maximum protection against the disease, a vaccine efficacy of 95 per cent,' Pfizer said in a statement.
'There are no data to demonstrate that protection after the first dose is sustained after 21 days” |

It’s the constant negativity I don’t like. EG does it a lot in regards to the rays of light at the end of this terribly long tunnel we live in. |

If he is saying it is not advised and there is no data, what have we made our decision based on?

As I just pointed out above, the boss of Pfizer has just said he has no proof 12 week gap will work with his vaccine.
And even more worryingly, it may not work at all after 21 days if the second dose isn’t given.

My OP was about both vaccines. The Government have moved the Pfizer one to a 12 week dose, on the advice of JVCI.

As a scientist he works with data and evidence. He is literally saying he has no data and the only evidence he does have is it works at 21 day intervals for doses.
