Last Christmas is number one 18:34 - Jan 1 with 1377 viewsvapour_trail

Brilliant stuff.

George Michael, as a man first up, and as a lyricist, is an absolute hero in my book. And Ridgeley seems pretty sound too.

Only took 36 years to get there.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

Didn’t it get to number one a year after it’s initial release? I stand to be corrected.

Nevertheless, a classic.

Yeah I knew it lost out to Band Aid in 84 but I had always thought it made number one a year later. My memory is nit what it used to be.

Everything she wants, on the other side of the disc is the best ever Wham song.

Top man in my book, bit of a Joy Division fan too apparently. Anyway, I defy anyone not get up and start Dad Dancing to this...

How many times does a bloke have to get behind the wheel of a car whilst off his tits on drugs to qualify as a hero?

Asking for a friend.

I can't believe Asian Dub Foundation + Stewart Lee only made number 65.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Shakin Stevens, Merry Christmas Everyone was Christmas number 1 in 85. The record was produced and scheduled for release for the 1984 charts, then, when they found out, that Band Aid was being released, decided to hold it back for the following year!

Stevens. Has to be up there as one of the very very worst of the genre.

See also McCartney, wonderful Christmas time, and Richards, mistletoe and wine.

Everything she wants is an amazing track that had it been recoorded by someone other than Wham! would have got a lot more plaudits.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
