Nixon in the Sun claiming Town and Sunderland keen on Ched Evans, tho Preston lead the race to sign him. Personally their welcome to him.

If Joey Barton thinks you're a piece of sh1t, you are almost certainly beyond redemption.
[Post edited 3 Jan 2021 12:39]

I don’t think he ever called him a ‘piece of shït’.

Barton did state it was more a collection of little things of a period of time.

At 32 it isn’t worth bringing in somebody like that who could bring this kind of attitude to a club.

A good player, but not needed in my opinion.

Rapist is an absolute term. He was found not guilty and therefore not a rapist.

Will you accept 'disgusting predatory piece of sh1t who's only escaped a criminal record on penalties that even Joey Barton thinks is a scumbag'?

And again, if Joey Barton think's your attitude stinks...

We don't need any more strikers. We need our midfield to actually pass the ball to them.

At least I think that's how football is played. It's been so long I think I've forgot!

Agreed. We have 4 strikers, who receive little to no service.

We really miss Norwood, need him fit as soon as possible.

And with Norwood needing three or four sighters for each one converted, our midfield needs to be working overtime!

Something no-one else has mentioned yet, if I were a current Town player I wouldn't want a human being like that as part of my team. I certainly wouldn't celebrate with him.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Missing Norwood is proof that a good striker can make a big difference. They make average balls into good ones. If you've got strikers with poor or no movement, your midfield isn't going to do much.

We shouldn't be turning down good players. I've no idea if Evans is any good these days, though his record for Fleetwood looks half decent.

Some things - many things in fact - are more important than football. Evans could be as good as Messi but I still wouldn't want that scumbag to be associated with my club.

I'd expect he'll end up way down the pyramid. Not many clubs would run the risk of signing someone with his disciplinary/morality record and at the same time end up distancing themselves from large sections of their own fanbase.

I'd take Barton as manager. Just what our cushy players need. A good kick up the @rse.

Ched Evans on 13:34 - Jan 3 with 1594 viewsClareBlue

He was one of the best players on the pitch when we played them last year. I was talking to a couple of Fleetwood fans on the tram to Blackpool after the match and they said they would have no problem in him moving on even if he was their best player.

They said they just hope that most people didn't know he was playing for them. Also they made no effort to counter the abuse he got from away fans.

The reputation of our club will take a massive hit if we sign him and it would be hard to watch him play for Town.

There absolutely has to be alternatives, we're not a Premiership Club, so we don't need to scrape the bottom of the moral barrel to get a win.

If Barton were to come here, then at least we wouldn’t be linked with that bell end Ched Evans.

Keane and Hurst were quite aggressive in their dealings with the squads that they inherited- how did they work out? Being able to kick someone up the arse (whilst in a position of authority) is easy. It takes a proper manager to use the authority he has in a constructive manner.

Quite. Our dignity and self-respect as a support base has had enough of a battering as it is this past two years without adding predatory POS, etc into the mix.

Yes! Us being even remotely interested in him reflects just how low we have sunk.

From a PR perspective would be tin-eared enough for Town on recent evidence, however, I would guess there's nothing in it.

Interesting how so many advocates for a Decent Forum are quite keen to champion someone as vile as Evans.

If this man plays for Town, I will stop watching and supporting them as long as he does.

He was convicted first time around. Got off on an extremely controversial re-trail based on a digging up of the woman's sexual history. Leaves very little room for doubt in my mind.

Having an overly aggressive w**ker as manager is one thing. Giving a paycheque to someone with a very public history of sexual violence is another and I'm out if it happens (not that anyone will care. Just my POV)

I wasn’t championing him. I simply pointed out that a now removed statement posted by you was at best factually incorrect and at worst libellous.

Agreed. Educate me though, because I don't know whether this general dislike of him is based purely on his conviction these days or him in general? His recent 'behavioural' issues aren't much to go on obviously.
