When she started turning up on Twitter more and more regularly I finally twigged where I knew her from.
She was one of the regulars on the Late Review back in the 90s and her reviews of books and films were always screwy, subjective and sometimes quite bitter. But who cares about that and it was at least entertaining.
But pretty insane that newspaper editors and TV programme editors thought she should start reviewing the actual world. The people who publish and promote her stuff should be ashamed. |  |

Exceptionalism and entitlement are the cornerstones of their world view, as long as they and people like them are alright that's all that matters. They also really only ever tend to oppose things rather than offering any positive world view, which is why many leading Brexiteers have struggled massively with providing a vision for what Brexit should actually look like. | |

They all thought it was okay to sacrifice the economy for their ideological no-deal fantasies, but now suddenly pretend to care about people's livelihoods at the expense of public health.
It's the same as whenever Tories like Ben Bradley love to talk about standing up for the white working class and conflate the class issue with race whenever racial inequality is brought up. They love to talk about working class people as a collective as an excuse to avoid talking specifically about ethnic minorities, but when they get a chance to actually help working class people of all colours by voting for Free School Meals, they vote against it and accuse parents of sending the vouchers to crack dens.
The only consistency they've got is that they hate experts, whatever they're discussing. | |

Funnily enough, she wrote an article in March about how it would all be difficult to trust the selfish younger generation not to breach lockdown. Yet since April she's been furiously railing against restrictions herself. She really is an odious individual - wouldn't be surprised if she's a Tory MP next election!
