Just wondering if this would be an issue with the below?
Allergic reactions
Tell staff before you are vaccinated if you have ever had a serious allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). You should not have the vaccine if you’ve ever had a serious allergic reaction to medicines, vaccines or food. If you do have a reaction to the vaccine, it usually happens in minutes. Staff giving the vaccine are trained to deal with allergic reactions and treat them immediately.

Funny thing is though, I have no idea how serious it is, and there is no one else alive who would either.
As I understand it, you should tell them as a precaution but if you've had other vaccines without issue you should be OK. |  |

I was given it when I was 13 and within minutes started getting hives, blurred vison and severe sickness, the Doc then said "Oh, you're allergic to Penicillin" No sh1t sherlock.
Anyway, it's an experience I wouldn't wish to repeat, so probably best I steer clear of the Pfizer one.
Hopefully the Astra one doesn't have the same issues. | |

That appears to one of the issues with getting the vaccine out quickly. They need clinical staff willing to volunteer to deal with the reactions.
NHS wife was greeted to another email when she logged on this morning asking for anyone with clinical experience willing to do evenings and weekends, or if they know of any ex-clinical staff able to get involved. |  | | |

I am - and this is another reason I am worried that vaccines will not work on me. It's bad enough that I am still suffering from post viral fatigue nearly 2 years after picking up some virus in March 2019. |  | | |

define "without issue" ?
no-ones ever mentioned penicillin allergies to me before when going getting jabs done, and it would be quite an important thing to have discussed Id have thought. |  | | |

no-ones ever mentioned penicillin allergies to me before when going getting jabs done, and it would be quite an important thing to have discussed Id have thought. |
As far as the Pfizer vaccine was concerned, the NHS leafet defined "serious reaction" as having previously gone into anaphylactic shock as a reaction to *anything* - food, meds, insect stings, whatever - and said such people should definitely not have that vaccine.
Anyone in any doubt should consult their GP, who will of course have their full medical history. |  |

I was when I was younger.
Had Glandular Fever quite bad last year and the Doctors prescribed me something with Penicillin in after we had the conversation where I stated I had a reaction when I was younger. Remember her stating “we will give this a go”
On the bright side, I had no further issues and was soon back to normal.

Yer, my old man is, although with him being 58, I don't expect he'll see the vaccine anytime soon anyway.
