8pm Presser from Boris tonight on 16:00 - Jan 4 by J2BLUE | Scotland have unlimited exercise. Nothing to suggest it won't be the same here. I believe Clive 100% but i'd be surprised if this bit hasn't been confused somehow. |
its been confused on that point since March last year, the papers even just last week were still reporting you were only allowed 1hr of exercise, which has never been the case at all, that was just a comment Gove chucked out there on one of the Sunday talkies, and the media all treated it like it was legislation.
8pm Presser from Boris tonight on 16:29 - Jan 4 with 1315 views | Pinewoodblue | Grandchildren’s primary school closed from tomorrow. Seems not enough teachers, following Union advice, are prepared to go in to allow them to safely open. They will permit children of essential workers to attend but only if both parents are essential workers. Going to be awkward if one parent is essential worker and the other works from home. Boris is such an idiot allowing himself to be backed into a corner by Trade Unions.

And the Premier League resumed matches 3 or 4 weeks before the last lockdown ended. So it can be done. And I agree with you. It should be done for the sake of a lot of people who are stuck at home.

8pm Presser from Boris tonight on 16:19 - Jan 4 by Churchman | Should have done it the week before the schools broke up for Xmas hols. The priority should have been people’s lives and protecting the NHS’ ability to save them. All this nonsense about Christmas was just politics being played out. Same with schools. The rapid rise half way through September correlates to the start of the winter term. Add in an unwillingness and inability to enforce anything along with a large percentage of the population that just doesn’t care and here we are. Ironically it’s not people like my youngish neighbours who’ve done exactly as they liked when they liked, visitors, Spain golf trip, New Year’s Eve party with their chums etc etc that pay - it’s the vulnerable people they come in contact with, if they contract this dreadful virus, that’ll get ill and possibly die. |
And the rotters next to me.... just constantly going out and having people round. And the new people next to my poor parents. Been even more hell for them having to go round to tell to shut the hell up on New Years Eve and there are 4 people round there having a party. There is meant to be one bloke living there. I am scared that my vulnerable Dad will catch the virus off them, they don't give a f*** who they upset.

The Scottish government were playing politics up here as well. Closed us down and put us into tier 4 for two weeks at the end of November so that everyone could go crazy for two weeks at Christmas only to be followed by another lockdown.

Part of that was that it hadn't been thought of as a need. Guess the difficulty is that there is no straightforward way of ensuring that bubbles really are as defined. I would hope they continue to exist, don't really fancy the next six weeks of only seeing people in Sainsburys given I spent Christmas and New Year on my own.

There are. None like live sport. If it can be done safely then why keep it going? People seem to just want it to stop for the sake of it. If it would make a genuine difference then great, stop it, but I don't see why so many want ot stopped regardless.

I think morale and mental health is very important during lockdown and for some people football is their life. Troy on here springs to mind. Lockdown in the summer was far easier to cope with. Winter is going to be very depressing. I'll be honest, the black dog is creeping up on me with the thought that I may be cloed until Easter.

Tough times. You certainly have my sympathies as a business owner. Businesses are certainly feeling it here. The ban on inside eating and drinking was somewhat workable over the summer, but now the weather has gone south and the fact that most places have little more than makeshift seating in the road... It's going to be a long winter that many won't survive without government assistance. [Post edited 4 Jan 2021 17:17]

Ultimately I'm with you. If it is safe to do so, and crucially, if the people involved can keep to the damn rules, it should go ahead.
