Trump and the way he has poisoned normal Republicans on 16:57 - Jan 7 by GlasgowBlue
Rats deserting a sinking ship.
Pence will also have one eye on 2024 and will want to distance himself from Trump.
That'll be incredibly hard to do, and even if successful I can't see him winning over the MAGA base. The only people they love have the surname Trump, and Pence crossed them yesterday (in their eyes).
The guys to look out for are the deeply troubling and sinister ones who are all in on that MAGA worldview but present it with far less chaotic and far more slick manner so your 'modetste' Republicans can vote for them and not feel so embarrassed or ashamed - a Tom Cotton or a Josh Hawley.
Hawley especially has all the markings of someone in public service not to serve the public, but to serve himself. I think he could be incredibly danger. Presents himself as anti-elite and anti-establishment warrior despite graduating from Stanford and Yale, clerking for Chief Justice Roberts and teaching at St Paul's in London. He's anti-abortion, pro gun, anti-affordable care act, blames human trafficking on Hollywood, contraception premarital sex (wtf?), supports both a southern border wall and family separation, and is against the minimum wage.
This one is a snake who wants us back in the dark ages.

Trump threw Pence under the MAGA bus last night, so there will be no loyalty from Pence to Trump now.
You hope that is enough to get the 25th Amendment in play
And here is Trump watching it all unfold
Do not tell me Trump did not know what was going on yesterday during the Terrorist attack. Here he is watching it live. In the next video Junior literally encourages the rioters and claims as "Their Own" NOT Fascist ANTIFA pic.twitter.com/7jp4ZAmSTp#CapitolRiots#25thAmendmentNow

These are names I'm not familiar with. Are they well known in the US?
Surely the whole MAGA movement has completely toxified itself now?
A poll today showed something like 55-45 split against yesterday's actions amongst Republican voters. So they are already in the minority. Although a very large minority.
If that can be halved again over the next 4 years then they will become a fringe element hopefully.

Tom Cotton is a proper lunatic. Obviously this is a partisan video but much of it is just recordings of the stuff he's said.

They're probably as well known as your average MP in the UK I'd guess, but they're ambitious and their profile is growing.
If there's a 55-45 spilt within the Republican party it'll be a long time before they win another election, especially if Democrats continue with their voter registration efforts and make voting a less arduous task for many. I'm not sure MAGA followers even see themselves as Republicans anymore. They're completely off the rails.
Imagine a Presidential ticket in Texas with a Republican, a Democrat, and a MAGA sanctioned third party candidate. I don't see how Texas doesn't go blue under those circumstances. So, the Republicans need to heal their party. But, how do they assimilate the crazies alongside the folk who just want lower taxes and less government involvement in their lives? Will hating the Democrats be enough to glue them back together?
