You can cry all you like about the owner or manager 20:00 - Jan 9 with 4294 viewsDinnernotTea

But time and time and time again no one says a single word about Chambers. A complete mess of a leader who dared to act like a 12 year old and put his fingers in his ears to block out outside noise.

Horrible fraud of a man.

Everyone criticises Chambers all the time.
Also, the manager/owner gave him a 2 year contract, so his ongoing presence is their fault too.

The manager/owner gave him a new deal after the relegation and that was followed by euphoria among our fans.

We do really need some leadership on the pitch that has been missing for years.

Of all the problems we have, Luke Chambers is well down the list!

He was miles out of position for the first goal but he's hardly the key reason for the state of the club. He plays one of the least important positions so if he plays badly its less costly. (Unlike over 250 appearences of Cole Skuse doing absolutely zero in the most important position on the field)

I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton

The first and third goal were partially his fault and he hasn't had a good game since Blackpool.

There you go, some criticism.

Funnily enough I didn’t leave that woeful completely unacceptable display particularly berating mcguiness and The Wolf; in fact Mcguiness seemed one of our better performers

Certainly Chambo was skinned by a winger for one goal (but he was skinned week in week out in the championship, as mick persevered)

I like Chambo and I thought he and Ward started the season so so well.,, Ward seemingly a massive factor in driving us forward

Both have been poor of late

Coaching and direction no doubt

Playing one striker up front on his own , even in home games, totally isolated. CHAMBERS fault.
Playing aimless tippy tappy “ football” in our own half. CHAMBERS fault
Playing pedestrian football. One paced, no zest. No zip. CHAMBERS fault.
Playing players out of position. CHAMBERS fault.
Playing a weak, lacklustre midfield. CHAMBERS fault.
YEARS of monumental injuries, in terms of incidence, frequency and duration out. CHAMBERS fault
YEARS of poor / disastrous decisions at upper management/ owner level. CHAMBERS fault.

It's the most Ipswich fans thing there ever will be.

Here's a man who as captain has to be the manager on the pitch has to help sort the dressing room off the pitch. Has to set standards. How many managers has he seen off now? Will be one more by the summer.

It's absolutely pathetic when you want to keep blaming the same people but not the very person that's been overseeing it for 8 years. Add to that he's a very meh player.

Joke leader, a limp lifeless man when the sht hits the fan.

Chambers epitomises the standards that are acceptable to the owner. A bog standard second tier player when he joined us, now a bog standard third tier player. Fortunately the team's level of competence has kept pace with his, enabling him to maintain a comfortable career and living. Don't blame him for making the most if it, blame the fools who employ him.

It’s their opinion, which is allowed.

Not totally inaccurate, either. He’s a very average (at best) player.

My issue is that our current manager has been here over 2 years now and yet the players never look like they've received more than 5 minutes of coaching. Utter shambles, mate.

Agree with that, the standard of coaching is another thing acceptable to the owner. The owner accepts lower standards than most supporters, including standard of players. Can't blame the players, including the captain for making the most of it.

The standard of players we have is more than good enough for this level but the inept management can't do anything with them. Very frustrating. Semi-competent management and we'd already be out of this crap league.

What I will say about Chambers is, nobody has played more games for this club without winning anything as he has, I think that says it all really. He's not a great player by any stretch, had a few good seasons under Mick but largely average.

Third tier quality is what we have so good enough for this level. And our players are capable of doing better than to date with semi-competent management, but not necessarily to get out of this league. We have too many players for whom itfc at this level is a comfortable place to be in the twilight of their careers. Semi-competent management might deal with that.
