In his mind he thinks if the team plays attractive football the fans will be happy because he heard 'Mick McCarthy your football is sh1t' being belted out from the stands, and, in one of the most embarrassing events in recent history, sung in unison with Norwich fans at Carrow Road, during the end of Mick's tenure.
He also worked out that Lambert deciding the line-up using a tombola was detrimental to the team's results so enforced this vague 'style' over the summer. Problem is the manager is clueless as to how to do it (or anything else for that matter) effectively and Evans himself doesn't really know anything either. In a way, or at least until his stupid open letter, I felt a bit sorry for him as he's clearly out of his depth but is trying his best but failing and struggling so felt he had to lay down some ground rules in the hope of turning it around. Unfortunately it's never a good combination to be simultaneously stubborn and ignorant, which is what we have here. |  |

If "the style" is passing football then I don't have a problem with that statement.
However, that doesn't mean that passing football has to be under a 4-3-3 formation, or that during a game we switch to more long balls if its not working.
The persistent 433 is meaning Jackson or Sears playing wide. And neither look effective there. They either need to play through the middle or not at all.
Thats whats frustrating. Lambert has gone from constant chopping and changing of the systems last year to no change at all. There has to be tweaks during games to adjust to circumstances. |  |

There's nothing wrong with playing a passing game and lining up in a 4-3-3, the problem is that we have a manager that has no idea how to make the system or the formation work. If Evans wants us to play this way it's obvious he needs a manager capable of playing this way effectively. All Lambert seems able to get us to do is knock it about slowly at the back. There's no purpose to our possession and his version of a 4-3-3 is really a 4-5-1 to all intents and purposes. Useless. |  |
