12 points off third bottom.

We re to big to go down aren't we?

Only thinking of the bottom 3 as our form is shambolic and if we lose on sat we have some incredibly hard games coming up and I can't see where our wins are going to come from

I really don't think that is a consideration this season, but next could well be exactly that. Our approach to the salary cap is going to take a shrewd manager who can see players able to function in a couple of possitions.

Lambert only knows one tactic, and has a glut of players who can't make it work. We've seen what these players can do in the Championship, whilst some are probably over the hill in football terms, we easily could field a number of formations with our current squad, and if we keep a manager resistant to change, next season is going to be a nightmare for worse than the last two.

Yeahp. Then there was the faction who were excited about a new league and new grounds to visit, a holiday season, a chance to blood in young talent and smash the league.

They were wrong.

To be fair, 12 games in last season that was the case.

No-one could foresee the car-crash that was coming. Just think, if Covid had happened just a bit earlier whilst we were still in the top 2, we'd be in the Championship right now.....right at the bottom probably, but still an improvement on where we are now.

Point of order. I think we're a couple of points above relegation form since we turned crap again. Ok, I know that's not very reassuring but we should be ok.

What does ‘too big’ mean?

And as been pointed out no such thing. Looking down is the only thing we need to concern ourselves with right now.

If that does become a reality, and it might, the fan base will have to shoulder some of the blame in my view. It’s only been recently that we’ve taken steps to voice our displeasure beyond managerial disasters and it may be too late. Trying to get another buyer in this economic climate is going to be tough and, if this community is a good yard stick, we’re not geared up in the way we should be to try running town as a community based enterprise.

Saturday as massive for me.

It's the same size as any other day for me .

It is going to be huge isn't it. It's only one game, but if we lose to second bottom and then bottom in the space of a week the pressure will really be on Lambert. Knowing us we'll scrape a win and then go on another mini slump for a few games delaying any action from Evans.

I dont see the fans were to blame.

We didnt hire hurst.

Lambert was hired by Evan's. We supported him even when we maybe shouldn't but you have to give people time. Hes ended up worse than hurst.

All the fans wanted was a bit more for a what was an established championship side. I dont think it was asking to much to be entertained for the money of tickets.

Sadly Evan's just chose the wrong managers to do it.

We are being played off the pitch by just about every team so it’s a possibility. I doubt it’ll come to that this season because 12 points is a lot for so many poor teams to make up. But we need to be gearing up for a relegation fight next season.

Despite what we see here and on social media a big chunk of our fans are incredibly patient, and I do agree with Keanish that we should have made big waves sooner - though as we're seeing it really doesn't matter in the end. I really don't think we can be blamed.

One thing I will say disgusted me, the "One of Our Own" season ticket renewal packs. That was blatant psychology by Evans' matketing team and a lot of us fell for it hook line and sinker - then, a new era happened.

I guess we can say Evans did deliver a new era, but not the one we was expecting.

Needless to say, Evans is so stupidly out of touch with his decisions on management, sans McCarthy. So ridiculously stupid we couldn't have possibly made a difference if the man is compelled to hire Paul Jewell (out of touch), give Paul Hurst unmitigated freedom with transfers, hire Paul Lambert (only one real success story to his name and clearly useless at long term roles)

None of which the fans universally really interpreted as good ideas at the time.

Nobody? I think there was a few of us who knew we wouldn't do well. We didn't play well even during the strong start, we've not played well for years.

I didn't expect us to go up. I expected us to finish mid-table, and this season I expect us to finish 7th. Last season went exactly how I expected it to, we crashed out the Championship without so much as an ounce of fight, made no real improvement to the squad and then expected those same players, who have about 3 promotions from this league between all of them to suddenly become top quality in this league when they hadn't even been the best players in League One, or Two before Evans and Hurst signed them.

They weren't good enough for the Championship. Our best player was offloaded to Millwall, and has gone on again to be the best goalie in that league, the rest of them are bang average in this league and the results prove it. The squad is overhyped, over valued and over paid for what it offers, when they are fit enough to play that is.

We're bang average in a poor league. It's purely down to what the owner has done here after years of club killing decisions.

I don’t see the managers as the problem though. We’ve had six and the majority with a proven track record of promotion. Our ownership and the way he chooses to run the club is the problem.

You have to go further than track records

Lambert did nothing after Norwich worthy of thinking he was a safe bet. His fall out with culverhouse basically ruined Lambert as a manager.

Jewell hadn't done anything for years

Keane was Keane and a crazy appointment

Mick was the only safe bet. Did what he was brought into do

Hurst was never going to achieve anything at champ level his way of managing doesn't work with older more established players

Etc etc

Quite frankly Mick was the only decent manager Evan's has ever appointed.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

Which says a lot about the track record of Evans. 13 years of decline from a top eight Championship side to a mid-table League One side under 6 very different managers. He’ll look at it and think he’s tried everything, in that is the telling truth, he’s never got it right so it has to be time to call it a day before it starts getting ugly.

Rochdale 2-0 up at Charlton.

That is the relegation zone closing the gap to us.

Get used to watching out for how Swindon, Rochdale, Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers and Northampton are doing.

Charlton pulled one back immediately mind but Jamie Mackie says Rochdale the best side.

Saturday is a must must win. With the games after that I can't see getting anything more than a point our of 5 games. Imo

At the moment, I can't see us averaging much more than a point a game over any reasonable period of fixtures.

Rochdale have their 2 goal lead again.

Given options out there at the time, McCarthy was the only appointment which didn’t rIse eyebrows. By all accounts, Redknapp had been a close advisor.
