Category One update 02:07 - Jan 15 with 941 views | stiff_talking | Given salary cap is now the right time for academy to upgrade to Category One ? This would help prevent outside clubs obtaining our youngest for low returns It also would support the 5 point plan
Category One update on 05:00 - Jan 15 with 857 views | Jeff_winger | Can't see we can achieve category 1 status in this division we failed when we tried previously in championship, now we have less money and even more excuse for the authorities not to grant it to us. It's so hard to achieve you have to have 27 members of staff work for the academy, not sure what we have but bet we are getting rid rather than hiring. 3 clubs applied last year Burnley, palace and Leeds and only 2 of them got it. Not sure the investment would offer us much more in this division we have fallen so far youngsters will want to leave anyway to go to clubs in top 2 tiers

Category One update on 07:48 - Jan 15 with 758 views | Churchman | Odds on the Academy will go and the training ground sold. The land is on a separate part of MEs portfolio so is a nice juicy asset to realise at some point.
Category One update on 08:11 - Jan 15 with 733 views | ElderGrizzly | We already spend £2m+ on it. Cat 1 would likely take at least doubling that. Can’t see it happening, or that they’d want a small L1 club in Cat 1
Category One update on 08:21 - Jan 15 with 711 views | Herbivore | Becoming Category 1 wouldn't stop bigger clubs poaching our youngsters.

Category One update on 09:45 - Jan 15 with 604 views | MonkeyAlan | Why would we bother. Whilst in this league? Any club can just come along and cherry pick our players for nothing. And we can do nothing about it. No point in cat 1.
