Winning while playing badly cliché 09:34 - Jan 17 with 628 viewsBluefish

Can we just clear something up for those that keep trotting this cliché out? Yes winning when having played badly is a sign of a good team but that is when a team is winning every week and when it has a bad day keeps winning. We are playing badly every week and usually losing, there is no big loss positive about occasionally beating relegation fodder that are even worse.

Yep agree 100%.

That cliche makes absolutely no sense unless you’re a good team who consistently play well whilst usually winning.

What I'm particularly enjoying is how one or two who are trotting it out were expressing the view that laboured 1-0 wins were utterly anathema to them but a couple of years ago.
