Irrespective of the rights or wrongs of this decision, how on earth can someone be released from a life sentence after just 6 years?

It wouldn't hurt to consider the language used for describing sentences wouldn't it. The judiciary rightly complain that they get a bad deal from the media and public. But this is the sort of thing that doesn't help.

I believe that a Life Sentence does not expire like a fixed term and, even after release, the convict is effectively on parole, may have conditions imposed upon them and can be recalled to prison.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
