5 days? It was openly a major objective of vote leave. To free employers from the shackles of workers' rights legislation. I remember when this was brought in by the EU and my employer at the time said it was optional legislation, called us into a meeting and said if you want to be bound by it raise your hand, if you don't you have opted out of it. | |

I had to opt out of it 10 years ago when I worked for Domino’s as I did long hours out of choice. Of course I was the mouthy one who asked how we are protected if you then force us to work these hours. Luckily my manager was cool, even if the franchisees and overarching company is an exploitive pizza propaganda outlet. | |
