Milk chocolate is pointless. Unless chocolate makes you pull a funny face it's of no quality whatsoever. |
I've ordered a nice vegan 70% dark chocolate bundle.

I once knew someone who would put ketchup on everything. Even a Sunday roast. So he would agree with you and Sitters. The rest of us would open it, use it sparingly, and to stop it going off, stick it in the bloody fridge!

I'm not that bad but did once ask a girl I was getting close to if it was acceptable to put ketchup on my well done fillet steak. I think that was the beginning of the end.

I was on Atkins at the time. I think I just bought steak to try and make it 'luxury' even though I don't really like it. Happier with some lentils to be honest. Her words were "a waste of good steak". She very quickly got engaged to someone else after we fell out. Not over the steak...

Chocolate belongs in the fridge. on 16:20 - Jan 19 by clive_baker | When you think about it, conceptually, surely an egg should be in the fridge? I don't know where ours are kept as I don't eat them, but isn't it bizarre that we're so keen to refrigerate chocolate and butter, but we'll leave an egg in a cupboard for 2 weeks and then eat it. The barrier properties of an egg shell must be impenetrable. |
I've left an egg in a cupboard for 6 months and eaten it. The bizarre thing here, well two things, is/are that you don't eat eggs and don't know where they're kept in your house! The barrier properties of an egg shell ARE impenetrable. That's kinda the point, unless you're whooshing me.

Chocolate belongs in the fridge. on 15:01 - Jan 19 by footers | Whatever happened to the noble butter dish? Mine sits proudly on the worktop but I never see them around these days. |
Doesn’t everyone have one? Mine also sits on the worktop, have found butter with big sea salt flakes in it which is the business. Trouble is it’s too fcking cold so currently using the spreadable stuff from the fridge. Elsewhere, ketchup in the fridge (though that’s predominantly for the kids), eggs - fridge, carrots - fridge. In fact all salad and veg - fridge. Except potatoes and members of the onion family, which are in the cupboard. Except the spring onions and jar of pickled onions which are in the fridge. Chocolate - cupboard, obvs. Hope that’s settled it.

Surely the ‘wasting of a good fillet steak’ had already happened at the point of having it ‘well done’, irrespective of whether you put ketchup on it or not (which you shouldn’t do, by the way).

Where are the eggs kept when you buy them at the shop? Usually on a non-chiller shelf. Salad items are refrigerated, fruit and veg for the most part - not chilled. Chocolate - never seen kept in the fridge, apart from maybe the odd occasion in a non air conditioned small shop on a freakishly hot day, but not in the supermarkets.
