Addiction to outsourcing. So much time and money wasted on so many projects. How they get away with it time and again I've no idea. But there will be a time when the likes of Serco and Crapita stop getting handed hundreds of millions for diddly squit.

Same could've been done for FSM with the government procuring direct from suppliers. But no, because Private Sector Efficiency and Definitely Not Cronyism.

It’s a solid tweet but is it as good as texters golden tweet on Sunday about the podcast crew? Won’t repeat it here but it was sensational.

Probably best to leave it off here. A tad vulgar!

That is a corker.

But raises an interesting point about how we’ve become addicted to glorifying private enterprise (Thatcher to Blair until it becomes mantra) because we can point at their success. Although we tend to sweep the failure of private enterprise under the carpet because of course the failures don’t get talked about or talked up.

But nevertheless any success is financial. They’re the best at making money not necessarily the best at what they do. Vaccines are a case in point – almost all the knowledge comes from the academic world, pharma companies are just good at commercialising, mass producing and shifting products (which is a skill and needed too but isn’t really the main challenge).

Reminds me of something I read the other day about billionaires and people wanting to see them as value creators. No, they’re invariably value tappers and wealth hoarders. But I’ll post on a new thread so as not to derail this one.
