Very good signing. I'm surprised we did get him.

Style wise he's very similar to Jarrod Bowen - hopefully he chips in with goals like Bowen too.

Midfield has an upgrade which is excellent - but we still need a couple of better forwards if we're going to start scoring regularly again. Our backline always has a silly mistake in it, so we need to cover for that by being a lot more effective up top. There's no point having 50 midfielders on the books if we don't have any fit forwards up to the job.

Sounds like he was looking forward to getting away from Barnsley and playing. If he somehow got involved in a successful promotion push could easily be a permanent in the summer.

We've got Norwood, Jackson, Hawkins, and Drinan all competing for one spot. I'm not sure we can realistically add a fifth option for the one centre forward role.

Except that 3 of them don't really score.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

They don't really get the opportunity to, to be fair.

Hopefully, these two new signings can change that.

I thought the same about potentially being a permanent deal.

The best case is Barnsley stick with their current manager come the summer so Thomas doesn't fit into the system which makes him available.

His goal-scoring record doesn't inspire too much excitement. Hopefully he'll add a bit of depth to the squad.

Signing Hawkins was a big mistake in my opinion, he's nowhere near mobile enough to play on his own up front, and if you just play with one striker that player has to be a proper goal threat.

Danny Rowe's style was similar to Bowen, didn't make him any good sadly.

Excited to see Thomas (and Harrop) though, hopefully this weekend.

I don't imagine he was ever going to play regularly, and probably would have played even fewer minutes if JN and AD had been fit more.

Should try do another deal with Preston regarding Stockley, Sunderland want him, would be nice to nab another one of their targets, maybe offer Jackson in a straight swap as he won’t be cheap and Jackson does have value albeit not done too much to merit a start this season.

Not if the team is set up correctly you don't.

Hawkins allows the midfield to get up and support him better than Norwood does. Again though, we don't create chances, no matter who's up front.

Teams are suddenly going to take swap deals that involve them signing players they've shown no interest in?

Between the lot of them they have managed four league goals this season I think.

How will they do that when we're not creating chances for our centre forwards? I can't believe that people still think what is needed is more players rather than competent management of the players we already have.

It won't make any difference. We could stick Cristiano Ronaldo up front and he'd end the season with three goals to his name. Bringing in more players is just throwing good money after bad.
