Very good signing. I'm surprised we did get him.

Style wise he's very similar to Jarrod Bowen - hopefully he chips in with goals like Bowen too.

Poll: If selling Jackson meant getting in a wide man, would you be happy with Garbutt?

It won't make any difference. We could stick Cristiano Ronaldo up front and he'd end the season with three goals to his name. Bringing in more players is just throwing good money after bad.

What do you suggest then?

How will they do that when we're not creating chances for our centre forwards? I can't believe that people still think what is needed is more players rather than competent management of the players we already have.

so we aren't creating chances, fact
he's brought in two guys to help do that.... so that's a good thing? right?

Do you think the reason we're not creating chances is solely down to the players? Not the way they're set up? I'll be surprised if these signings make much difference to be honest.

nope, I don't believe it to be down to the players. (however, some of them have been pretty pointless - judge being one)

however, if these two lads can run with the ball, and wont look to go inside or backwards as first thought, maybe we might fluke a few goals

You have more hope than me. We've got players who can, in theory, run with the ball and go forwards but they don't do it under Lambert in the way we're set up. We might see these boys do it on debut but they'll soon be coached to be safety first and pass it back and sideways.

Yes, it's the manager. If we're not going to sack him yet then don't compound that error by squandering more money backing him.

Maybe as loanees they will do their own thing and if it’s effective enough to help transform us into genuine promotion contenders we can sit back, enjoy and see Lambert not only bask in the glory but earn himself an improved contract.

Sounds like he was looking forward to getting away from Barnsley and playing. If he somehow got involved in a successful promotion push could easily be a permanent in the summer.

Spoke to my Barnsley supporting friend earlier about him and he said no way they would sell as seen as one for the future but needs games.

Signing Hawkins was a big mistake in my opinion, he's nowhere near mobile enough to play on his own up front, and if you just play with one striker that player has to be a proper goal threat.

Disagree. We look far better with Hawkins in the team.

That's the inevitable consequence of sticking with a manager that is utterly clueless.

No. You can make an effort despite the manager. There's no point cutting off your nose to spite your face. All I see from you are gripes and no solutions (given the manager isn't going to be sacked anytime soon). I think you'd rather see us fail so you can say 'I told you so' than see Ipswich successful.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Anyone who wants Ipswich to be successful should want Lambert gone as soon as possible.

Is it possible to want Lambert sacked but still be slightly hopeful and excited about two new signings and want us to win on Saturday?

If he's any good he'll be injured by the end of the month.
