Well - here's a turn up for the books - this just arrived for me.

Given the limited amount of ingredients for this evenings meal (and I need to cater for the kids as well) - it's a 'Cottage' pie with a twist.
It will have a pastry bottom, sides and top (shortcrust of course) and the mince and mash is going to be on the inside.....so a pie (though not a pie) in a pie - if you like.

I just happened to be passing the tinned meat section, where I happened to see a tinned Fray Bentos balti pie.
I must have a word with Waitrose; surely only riff-raff and students buy those, and we don't want those sort in Waitrose. There is a reason for ASDA, after all. |  |
